" I hired the Oneill brothers I couldn’t be happier with the concrete work done in my backyard. They were very professional the job was completed within the agreed timeframe and budget. The crew was respectful of my property, kept the work area clean, and made sure everything was done to high standards. Overall, I highly recommend this team for anyone looking for quality concrete work. They truly went above and beyond to deliver a beautiful, durable backyard space that I’ll enjoy for years to come! "Chris Basile did an excellent job! He is a very neat, meticulous and skilled mason! He removed all the existing mortar joints in my 15 year old flagstone patio; he reset any loose stones, and then pointed the patio in a color I choose. He thoroughly cleaned up the work area and when he left, I did not have to clean at all.I highly recommend Chris Basile!"

"I don’t know how they could get much better than Denis and his company Philadelphia Brick and Stone Pointing. We did a LOT of research and got a number of estimates before deciding to hire Denis. We could not be more pleased with that decision. He was highly responsive; knew how to properly handle brick and stone work at our historic old property; worked to match the mortar material, color(s) and pointing technique; price was more than fair; and all work was done on time to a high standard. Denis clearly cares about his customers and the quality of his work. He is skilled, personable, incredibly hard-working, and went above and beyond. We not only hired him once, but twice, and hope we never have to use anyone else. There is a reason all his reviews are 5 stars. Add our 5 stars to the list!"

"Andy, Rob, Jeremiah and Dave were pleasant to work with and did excellent work. They give great attention to detail and take pride in their work. They matched the color of the mortar to the original on our historic home. Damaged bricks were repaired to perfection. Previous flaws are imperceptible. And, after cleaning, the 100 year old brick looks like new."

"John has done a nice job retiling our powder room. As others have mentioned he is very busy but will work as long as needed to get the job done right (our 45sq/ft job ended up being a bit more involved once old tile was removed). Will upload photos once grout is sealed and buffed in a couple days."

"Bennis is a local chimney repair company. Tim came out, inspected the chimney and a provided a very thorough estimate of the needed repairs. It was more detailed and accurate compared to the estimates from other companies. The price to do the work was very reasonable. They came a little bit ahead of schedule which worked out better for us. Felice took his time and did high quality repair work, including removing all debris and doing a thorough clean up when finished. I was very pleased with this repair service. total time to complete the work start to finish was about 2.5 hours."

"Our chimney had been partially toppled (about 4-5 rows of bricks were knocked off or knocked askew) by a shade tree's branch in a heavy storm. I called Bob since he was a local provider, and even though I called on a weekend, he came out quickly the next day to look at the damage. He called me back (after making his initial inspection, during which I wasn't home) with an estimate of $830 to repair the chimney, add a stainless steel cap and crown, and cut the tree's branch back so that it wouldn't do any further damage. He told me that wouldn't be doing the work himself; that he's too old for rooftop work anymore, but that he has a long-trusted employee to take care of it. He also warned me that while they always try to maintain the appearance of the chimney, many of the bricks had been knocked off and might have to be replaced. I didn't get any competitive bids, so I don't know how his price compares, but it seemed fair to me. So, I gave him the go-ahead (along with a $100 deposit) and we set a tentative date of March 30, weather permitting. Of course, on March 30 it rained all day. The next day, though it was sunny and Bob's guy was there from mid-morning to mid-afternoon. He replaced and mortared all the bricks, taking the time to scour the yard for all of the errant pieces. It turns out, he was able to find all of them, and it looks to me like they all went back exactly as they were. He also trimmed the tree and installed the cap and crown, and everything looks great. It was a truly painless process, and a welcome resolution to a potentially costly (and dangerous) problem. I'm happy to have found Bob and Alpine, and would gladly contact them again for any related needs in the future. I understand Bob installs and services fireplaces and BBQs as well, although I'll have to wait for our house to stop having costly accidents before I call him for those kinds of luxuries!"

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Glenolden, PA

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
