"Northwest Weatherization just finished blowing insulation into my attic. I am so satisfied with their work and professionalism! From the initial quote to the finished work, all of the crew were polite, professional, and helpful. They left my house looking exactly the way it was before they came, and they finished the job quickly."

"I had an emergency and JR Insulation Drywall did an amazing job. I had just sold my house, and in the process of moving, the movers broke a pipe that had to be repaired behind a wall on the day we gave possession to the new owners. I called JR Insulation Drywall and they were there the same day I called and did a wonderful job of the repair. Responsive, quality, and for a great price. Would definitely hire again if I needed help. I so appreciated their help in a stressful time for me."

"Because our garage walls were already dry walled spray foam was not used but instead they blew in BIB insulation which is better for Rvalue. When Jennifer looked at our garage for the pre work bid, she made a couple of good recommendations which we took. Her written quote was detailed for each part of job. The installers showed up on time and were efficient and took care with our home and left garage very clean. Jennifer got us onto their work schedule very soon after she sent us her written cost for this job. Great company!"

"Interior treatment took about 10min. The worker did a good job to explain what he was doing and the effect it would have. Due to weather he was not able to spray outside but mentioned that he would return when weather improved. Do not know if this ever occurred as there was no indication of a return visit."

"Do not use this product for noise reduction or noise “deadening” as it does absolutely NOTHING (no matter what the sales person says)! I was told that I would not hear cars driving by and kids/conversations outside. That was a lie. I strongly believe in selling a product for what it can do and not what it can’t just to get a customer. With that being said the crew that came to install the insulation was fantastic! They walked me through the process, showed me areas of my home that needed repair that I would not have noticed and told me ways to fix it on my own with little expense. They worked hard and got everything done in one day. I haven’t received an energy bill yet so I can’t say how the insulation has or will impact that yet. Again, as long as you are not trying to use this product for noise reduction/”deadening” you will be happy with the product and the installation team."

"They were great! Very promt to come out to bid. This was a second bid and he was extremely honest letting me know I DID NOT need the work done. I was adequately covered already. Would redo the job if I wanted, but wasting my money. The other contactor was Up-selling me on things not needed. I recommend them based on honesty and will you them for any thing they will repair. Thank you for saving a lot of money!!!"

FAQs for spray foam insulation projects in Government-Camp, OR

Old insulation should be removed when it shows damage, contamination, or heavy deterioration. If you notice water stains, rodent droppings, mold, or large gaps, plan on taking it out to protect your home’s energy performance and indoor air quality. Removing compromised material eliminates health hazards, cuts energy loss, and sets the stage for a safer, more efficient attic—all while keeping utility bills in check.

R-value measures how well insulation resists heat flow—the higher the number, the better it slows heat transfer. The right R-value keeps your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer, saving energy year-round. Match the rating to your climate zone and have a pro verify performance over time, because moisture or settling can lower R-value and cut efficiency.

Attic insulation can stay in place for 80 to 100 years, but its performance often drops after the first 15. As dust, moisture, or mold build up, the material loses R-value and allows heat to escape. Schedule periodic inspections so a pro can tell you when replacement makes sense—helping you keep energy bills down and indoor comfort up.

You can over-insulate an attic. Beyond the recommended R-value, extra layers don’t add efficiency and can trap moisture, leading to mold or reduced performance. A local insulation pro can measure current levels, confirm the right target for your climate, and advise on any adjustments so you avoid future energy or maintenance headaches.

Insulation can be damaged by mold, pests, water leaks, or accidental electrical contact. When the material is compromised, it loses R-value and can introduce health hazards. Removing and replacing affected sections restores efficiency, while routine inspections from a qualified pro help you catch problems early and keep your attic safe and energy-smart.
