Hello, Bryar from Hammond Home Improvement. I’m 23 years old and I’ve been in the construction/remodeling business for 5 years now. I’ve practically done a little bit of everything when it comes to remodels but I specialize in building decks, replacing doors and windows, and bathroom remodels. I have spent the last 3 years mainly working around lake houses in the area but I’m willing to travel for work. I would be more than happy to help in any way shape or form! No job to big, No job to small.

"We went with Bone Dry because of their sterling reputation. Two contractor friends of mine recommended them -- and said not to bother getting a second or third quote. Bone Dry communicated well throughout the project. We can't say enough good things about them and would highly recommend Bone Dry to anyone needing a new roof and/or gutters."

"Terry Mackenzie, Freedom Home Services, was my handyman for seven years. He was the best handyman I have ever used. He is competent, reasonable, professional, prompt, and very capable. He was able to fix, set up or repair everything that needed attention. When I moved, he gave me many terrific ideas for making my smaller house more functional: closet systems, hanging heavy objects, adding hooks, etc. When i have given him particularly difficult tasks, he has always found ways to do them very well. On a 5 star rating system, he gets 5 on every category."

"<ul> <li> HAVE USED RICK FOR OVER A YEAR ON VARIOUS PROJECTS AT SOME OF OUR RENTAL PROPERTIES. MAINLY WINDOW WORK AND ENTRY DOOR REPAIRS. BEING A SMALL BUSINESS OURSELVES WE LIKE TO SUPPORT OTHER SMALL BUSINESSES WHENEVER POSSIBLE. I TYPICALLY TRY TO MAKE THE JOBS AS EASY AND CONVIENIENT AS POSSIBLE FOR HIM. I HAD FELT THAT ON PAST JOBS THE WORK WAS DECENT AND PRICING WAS WITHIN RANGE, BUT ON THIS JOB I FELT COST OF LABOR UNREASONABLY HIGH. SINCE I HAVE WORKED WITH RICK OVER A PERIOD OF TIME I DIDN'T BOTHER TO GET AN ESTIMATE FOR WORK, AND WANTED TO GIVE HIM THE BUSINESS. I THOUGHT WE HAD ESTABLISHED A RELATIONSHIP OF "TRUST AND RESPECT", WHERE AS HE KNEW HE WOULD GET PAID IN A TIMELY MANOR AND I WOULD GET QUALTY WORK AT FAIR PRICES. HOWEVER, WHEN HE BILLED ME 11.5 HRS WORK AT $603.60 WHICH EQUALS $52.49 HR!!!! THAT IS A STICKER SHOCK. I WOULD EXPECT $30-$35 HR AS FAIR BUT $52 IS A SCREWING AND I FELT RFD CONSTRUCT TOOK ADVANTAGE OF MY TRUST.  SO MY ISSUES IS NOT SO MUCH THE TIME INVOLVED BUT THE COST OF  LABOR.</li> </ul> <br />"

"I chose this company because they'd done a neighbors' concrete and they were pleased with the experience and the sealant that was used doesn't change the appearance like most do. <br />   When I first contacted them they were booked ahead with big jobs. They could get to me by mid-June, but would fit my job in earlier if possible. They did, several weeks earlier. <br />   They cleaned my driveway, personal walk and patio, public sidewalk, and curb. Special care was given to the highly dirty/mildewed areas. I pointed out some decorative border stones and a repaired area that would be fragile and he took care to not damage those (or anything else).  <br />   They discussed whether the water-based or solvent-based sealant would be better given the age of my concrete (and the tendency to mildew). The solvent-based was used with special attention to those areas prone to mildew. <br />   They kept me well-informed re: what was being done and what I can expect going forward. <br />   I'm LOVING the clean look and also seeing water just bead up on top!! <br />   I didn't give an 'A' re: price, but it may have been competitive re: what I had done and the products/tools used. I hadn't gotten any other prices since I knew I wanted them to do it."

"It was a rainy Monday, but the company arrived at our home at 8am and waited out the weather.  They walked around the house with my husband and me to note any landscaping that was particularly fragile. (roses, hostas, mums and lilies).  The supplies had already been delivered so the crew got to work.   I didn't know what to expect with noise and mess and although there was plenty of both, the crew was very professional and efficient in their  efforts.    It took about 10 hours from start to finish and with only one rotten board to be replaced.   This was the first roof replacement I have experienced and this company did it right!  The owner was on sight numerous times to ensure everything was going well.  He answered my countless questions and explained what would happen from beginning to end.   I was quite concerned that the crew would never be able to pick up the zillions of roofing pieces, nails, shingles, etc.  However, there was not a scrap of material or nail in sight after they were finished.  They even cleaned out the gutters and the garage!  I would highly recommend Seamless Restoration for a new roof or repair.  They are professional, courteous, efficient and neat.  Extra stars to the employees for stopping to meet our dog who had to inspect everything, snoop in their lunchboxes and insist on being petted. <br />"

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Grabill, IN

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
