"They are very professional and responsive. What sets them apart is their website that also explains asbestos abatement. Tina the owner even came out to get the job done when one of her team members had an emergency. This shows that they are going the extra mile."

"It went great. They were fast, courteous, and very efficient. they did everything we asked at the best price. we had about 520 plus square feet of popcorn ceiling containing asbestos removed. They had all the right equipment and knowledge to do the job correctly. Leaving a clean and safe environment. first day sealed the entire room second day removed popcorn ceiling, taking off vents and light to get to all the ceiling."

"So great. Derrrick was flexible, human and understanding while still being professional and affordable compared to others in the market. His price came in at 1/2 that of another quote I got, and he answered all of my (totally paranoid) questions about health, safety and precautions taken to protect our home and family from rogue asbestos fibers. He and his crew do a swipe of the space before and after and send it to labs to verify that everything is clean. My kitchen counter ended up with LESS asbestos on it after the removal than before... which just made me feel 100% comfortable with the processes they used. It's called above and beyond for a reason - and shockingly, that isn't about the price. Also Derrick is the nicest guy. What a great find. Thanks Angies list!"

"Meeting Advances Asbestos was nothing short of a miracle for me. They are incredibly professional, exceptionally honest, impressively fast, and remarkably friendly—everything you could ever need in a mitigation company. I cannot thank Advances Asbestos and their outstanding project manager, Vicki, enough. They truly saved my entire house. When I first experienced severe water damage from a catastrophic event back in January, I had a terrible experience with a different mitigation company. They were the exact opposite of Advances Asbestos: their work was delayed, grossly unprofessional, utterly lacking in safety precautions, and completely unresponsive. I was trapped in a frustrating situation where they refused to justify their work to the insurance company. This is when I found Vicki from Advances Asbestos. She showed incredible empathy and offered invaluable advice at no cost. She meticulously identified all the incorrect work the previous mitigation company had done and took over from there. If it weren’t for Advances Asbestos, my house would have been left improperly mitigated, resulting in a complete disaster. Also, since they perform mitigation work and abatement of asbestos work all together, they are super fast in their work. I wish I had known about Advances Asbestos from the very beginning of my water damage ordeal, but I am immensely grateful that I found them when I did. Their work has been nothing short of exemplary, and I am filled with confidence and relief knowing they are the best in town. I could feel the difference in their level of professionalism and honesty. Advances Asbestos not only restored my home but also my peace of mind. They are, without a doubt, the epitome of excellence in the mitigation industry."

Small jobs welcome

"We discovered asbestos in our attic during a recent renovation. Uriel and his partner, Elder, were recommended to us by the company we hired to clean out the attic. Uriel walked us through the steps involved, and Elder exceeded every expectation set. Elder and crew worked quietly and efficiently, completing the job ahead of schedule. They sealed off the attic and adjacent room to contain the material and left the affected areas in immaculate condition at the completion of the project. I cannot say enough good things about them and happily recommend them to anyone needing asbestos abatement services."

FAQs for asbestos testing projects in Granite Falls, WA

Asbestos appears as long, thin, or curled mineral fibers that are not visible to the naked eye under normal conditions. Homes constructed before 1989 are more likely to contain this material, so a professional inspection is essential. Because asbestos identification requires specialized techniques, having a certified inspector assess your property is the safest way to confirm its presence and protect your family’s health.

Free asbestos testing services do not exist. You can purchase testing kits online for $30 per unit, and these kits include lab fees, return shipping, consultation, sampling media, and the final results. The results from a kit are less detailed and accurate than those provided by a certified asbestos testing professional. Since collecting a sample exposes you to harmful fibers, hiring a professional is essential to ensure safety and accurate testing.

Receiving asbestos test results takes one to seven days, but different labs offer varying turnaround times. When expedited processing is arranged, the laboratory completes analysis within 24 hours; standard processing requires up to two weeks. Hiring a certified professional ensures that all samples are collected correctly and results are provided without delay, safeguarding your home throughout the process.

Home insurance doesn't often cover asbestos testing and removal. Many policies have a clause called a "pollution exclusion," which means they do not cover indoor pollutants like asbestos. However, your insurance company might cover something like asbestos siding removal costs if it is released due to things beyond your control, such as storm damage.

If a DIY project or accident in your home releases harmful fibers, you must pay for the test and removal.

Yes, you can legally inspect and remove asbestos in your house as long as it's a single-family home and not a multi-family unit. However, the EPA strongly recommends hiring an asbestos abatement pro since testing can be dangerous.

Pros have all the right tools and safety equipment, and you risk breathing in the fibers by taking samples yourself. They also know how to collect samples and safely dispose of materials properly.

Asbestos encapsulation is a process that seals asbestos-containing materials with a protective barrier to prevent the release of harmful fibers. It serves as an alternative to complete removal when full abatement is not necessary. Encapsulation costs between $2 and $6 per square foot, offering a cost-effective option that contains asbestos safely when applied by a certified professional.
