"We met with Glenn and Josh a few times before beginning the project. They had a nice professional proposal and were always responsive on the phone. They preferred phone and mail over email but that was fine with me.   I priced out about 8 different masonry companies since the price for this foundation and slab was all over the map (range from 9k to 24k).  J&G was slightly higher than the lowest company but their customer service, reputation on Angieslist, and responsiveness made us select them.  We had a few weather delays.  Glenn was great at explaining what they were doing and when.  If I asked them to tidy up the site, they took care of it right away.
 
They laid the rebar for the footers and while we waited for inspection, the rain made a big mess of everything.  After waiting for the ground to dry out, they cleaned up the holes and removed all the soft mud.  The rebar was all put back into place and we were able to pour the concrete and have it set up.  We also had a piece of rebar attached to the footer rebar for a footer electrical ground.  Once our electrician comes out, the grounding wire can be tied in to the rebar. 
After that week, things moved a bit faster with building the block walls with anchor bolts, backfilling, adding a load of gravel for grading, and finally pouring the slab.  In their proposal, Glenn had written that they would do the 6" wire mesh in the slab but then proposed having the concrete supplier add fiber reinforcement to the concrete at the plant instead.  The inspector was okay with this change.  My understanding is that while the fiber reinforced concrete is slightly more expensive, it's less labor.
It's been about 3 weeks and we are very satisfied with the work J&G performed.  Other contractors have all said it looks like they did a great job."

"My experience with Earth Friendly Service was a positive one. My husband and I recently purchased a house that needed some TLC. I reached out to EFS and then responded immediately. Within a few days Steve and Phil were out at my house to see what repairs were needed and to give an estimate. They were pleasant and knowledgeable. I received a couple other quotes but EFS was most reasonable as far as a balance of price and timeline for completion. We set a date to start and when they began the work, it was completed within a week. Steph was great. Detail oriented. Asked questions of my desires when there was uncertainty. "This company did an excellent job of removing the old stone brick wall in our family room and installing a beautiful veneer stone on the first job and on the second job we hired 7th State for the remodeling my dining room. They were efficient, fast, and professional. They are pricey, but you get what you pay for and the customer service is impeccable!!! Eddie Cox has been our rep for all our projects and now we are working on our third project with him and 7th State. Awesome Company!!!"

"Overall, I thought the person that came to my home to give an estimate of the patio we wanted to build was not very professional. She came up with a sketch for the patio which did not incorporate the design ideas that I wanted. She was willing to re-sketch the design 2 times to get it right, but then seemed to get annoyed that I asked questions about the materials that were being used, the options that were available...etc. Granted she may have been having a bad week, but I expected more. Ended up going with a different contractor and glad I did because the quote I got from them was $1000 less and I loved the job they did. 
Overall, I would give them a B-.

"They came out today to provide an estimate on fixing a frozen pipe. They ran a snake through the pipe to see if anything was in the pipe causing the clog.  They also checked our crawl space to see if they could access the pipe from that area, but unfortunately are not able to.  They're going to have to remove the siding from the house, clear out the pipe, re-insulate it and replace the siding. Their estimate of $1,200 seems like a fair price.  I especially liked the fact that they took off their shoes before entering the house.  Everyone was very professional, prompt and courteous.  I did pay them today for the snake service and inspection."

But the team showed up, corrected the issue, were very professional and thorough in their tasks and did a very nice job on a follow-up sealing of the new driveway."
