"Well, the blinds were installed. I had over 20 windows in the entire house so it wasn't cheap, but still good value. Teresa was on time and very nice to work with. However, they were several days later than scheduled. Then, when the guys got here they didn't speak English, so my roommate (I was out of town) couldn't communicate with them. When I got back, there were piles of nails on the floor, which I later learned was because the top board for the blinds was only screwed in the center, the sides were not, so they wobble and are not fastened properly. Tags still on all the blinds. It was a lazy job. I never received a follow-up call to check to see if I was happy with the service or anything. I even paid $1 over to round up the check lol. I paid in full prior to the work, which was a mistake on my part. Overall okay. Just make sure to be on site when it gets installed and make sure you can communicate with them."

"My shades are up. My husband didn't think it was a good deal at all. It was advertised as $89. All we got were simple darkening blinds, and it ended up costing us $299 so I thought it was false advertising. I told the man that and he said how much better his blinds were. I would not recommend them to anyone. They were just blinds similar to the blinds I already have in my bedroom. It cost me much more than the ad indicated. I said I thought it was $89 for $350 worth of blinds but he said the blinds I picked out were more money. I could have bought them at Lowe's for $50. The 2 blinds are stuck. It was a very poor deal. It makes me think I'm not interested in getting Angie's deals again. I thought he had falsely advertised on Angie's List and I saw him advertising again. The blinds are good quality, there's no question about that. He said the warranty is for life. I don't know about that until something happens to them. They were okay. I told him that I didn't like the price. I already put the $89 in so I had already paid that so I didn't want to lose that. If I had known what they were going to end up costing, I would not have bought them. I would say they should honor their price that they're advertising on Angie's List. I would not use them and I would not recommend anyone else using them."

"We'd been considering mounting our TV for almost a year. After reviewing and getting quotes from several companies, we decided to hire CAT for the job. We originally spoke with James in December of 2015. He came to the house, looked at the space and gave us some great recommendations. Then, things happened here and we had put the project on hold until a couple of weeks ago. When we were ready, James responded quickly and I was pleased that he was willing to honor his original quote. He and one of his technicians (Carlos - sharp guy) came to the house, on time, worked quickly and adapted the mount I'd purchased off Amazon to work with my television. I'd suggest you talk to James about his mounts instead of purchasing one blindly. Anyway, they did a great job and the television looks fantastic. I strongly recommend CAT for your home electronic projects and we will definitely use them again."

"Was able to fit us in quickly and provided excellent service. I used Devin on two different instances: one to install new chandeliers and the second was to provide a stronger outlet in our garage for our home gym. Not only was he extremely professional, he was also very affordable and I would highly recommend him for any and all of your electrical needs. Definitely a pleasure to work with!"

FAQs for blinds or shades repair projects in Greensboro, NC

If you're wondering whether repairing your blinds is worth it, consider the quality and age of your blinds. For high-end or custom blinds, repairing them can preserve their quality, functionality, and design, making repair a smart choice. Immediate repairs maintain the original look and performance. However, if your blinds are over six years old, extensively damaged, or of lower quality, replacing them might be more cost-effective, as new blinds offer better efficiency and modern technology. Weigh the repair costs against the benefits of replacement to make the best decision for your situation.

When damage undermines the integrity and appearance of your blinds, replacement becomes the clear option. You should replace your blinds when damage to slats or fabric prevents you from obtaining an exact match, thereby compromising appearance and function. Severe damage increases repair complexity and expense. Replacing blinds not only restores superior performance but also creates an opportunity for aesthetic upgrades and lasting benefits.

You should plan to replace your blinds at least every 10 years, with clear signs of wear, such as discoloration, deterioration, or functional issues, emerging by five years. Regular evaluation of style, quality, and performance supports an informed decision. While minor repairs may temporarily extend usability, a complete replacement secures optimal operation and updated design.

Establish a regular maintenance routine to keep your blinds looking and functioning their best. Clean them regularly with mild, specialized products and follow the manufacturer's recommended usage guidelines. UV-blocking window film can protect against fading and warping from sun exposure. Regular inspections and proactive maintenance will preserve their appearance and performance, extending their overall lifespan.

If you pull the blind string and it does not move, it indicates a malfunction in the mechanism, such as a broken cord, a jammed cord lock, or a stuck component. Inspect the string for breaks and examine the headrail for any obstructions. Replace the defective cord or cord lock as necessary to restore proper operation and maintain functionality.

Yes, you can replace your blind string yourself by using a replacement kit available at home improvement stores. Accurate measurement of the string diameter is essential for a perfect fit. Gather the necessary tools and follow the manufacturer’s instructions rigorously to secure a safe, lasting fix. If the task demands more time than anticipated, hiring a professional is advisable to avoid further damage.
