Westborn Electric has been servicing south eastern Michigan for 22 years. We are a fair and honest contractor with great work ethics and values. "I hired this company because of the good reviews, but I had a terrible (and weird) experience. Here’s the short version: If you want to overpay for bad quality service and then have them actively duck your calls and avoid you when asked for accountability, Westborn Electric is the company for you. In February, I hired this company to complete the electrical work for a city inspection. The service was very expensive, but I hired them because of their guaranteed quality work. I’m an amenable customer, and really I just wanted the job done right. Among the work they completed, I had them replace the wired interconnected smoke alarms in the home, which they purchased and installed. Shortly after, the alarms began malfunctioning creating false alarms nearly every day (very disruptive and unsafe). When I called the company to have them come out to look at them given the guarantee of their work, they allegedly did so, but they never followed up to explain what issues they had found. I called this company over 10 times asking if someone could please call me back to understand if they had found an issue or what the next steps were. I never received a call back. The weirdest part is when the unhelpful receptionist would actually answer my calls, she would apologize profusely promise “I’ll have the electrician call you today.” This led to more confusion on my part as I expected every day they would call back, but they never would. I really would have preferred they told me they were unavailable for the job so I could stop wasting my time. Again, I called for almost two weeks straight, left many voicemails, and even spoke with the receptionist who promised someone would return my call. No call back. In totality, this was a VERY expensive project I hired them to do. On top of that, the fix was relatively simple, but they chose to duck my calls instead. A simple civil conversation would have been nice. The job was not done right and the company was unwilling to take responsibility in order to remediate the issue. Finally, I hired someone else to come fix the issue. The electrician I hired confirmed the smoke alarms they had sold me and installed were indeed defective. This company is definitely an “AVOID AT ALL COSTS” story I’ll be telling for a while."

"I contacted Mr Handyman from Angie's List around June 25th 2024. Mr Handy sent me a quote on June 26th for $3360 for 2men and 2days to complete the job of building a sunroom at my home. I excepted and scheduled a appointment for work to be done on July the 1st. Mr. Handyman called me on June the 28th to reschedule for July the 2 2024. They showed up on the 2nd worked 5 hours and come again on July 3 2024 worked for 8 hours. Job was still not completed. I called the company on July 8 2024 to find out about completed the job, I was told that someone would be out on July 10 2024 no one showed. I called the company around 9am on the 10th I was told that someone would be out to complete the job on July 11 2024. No one showed or called on July 11 2024. I called the company on July 12 2024 I spoke with the Owner and he said he would have someone out on July 15 2024 between 8-10am. The contractor came out on July 15 2024 worked 3 hours and told me that nothing could be done about the leak in the roof or the stripped door handle and missing screws. I called back to the company talked to the owner I offered to send photos of the job he refused to accepted. I have not talk to or received any call about rectifying to problem. I would like a refund of $1491 to hire another contractor. I do not trust this company to do the job correctly."
