"Utmost did a great job in getting my house back into shape! My home is ~27 years old and was at the point in time when repairs were needed. Chimney was failing (spalling of bricks, failing chimney shoulders and mortar), Cedar siding rot, and a couple of deck boards needing replaced. When looking for a company to complete my repairs, I always base my choice on a combination of price, quality and customer service. After getting 3 estimates from 3 highly rated companies, I chose Utmost due to fact they had the ability and skills to complete all the projects versus just the fireplace repair. Mark was timely in coming out for initial review, provided more than one solution to repairs with pro's and con's to each, and provided a written estimate in timely manner. The teams started and completed all work in committed timeframes even with additional work being required for back deck due to identifying additional rotted planking. Work performed included: 1) complete teardown, rebuilding and sealing of chimney 2) Replacement and painting of ~100ft of cedar siding, power washing, and sealing brick on front of house and 3) Replacement and painting of 4x6 deck flooring on back stoop. Teams were responsive and cleaned up after each days work. Thanks for the work Utmost. Mark - Hopefully I do not need you again, but if so I will definitely hire your company.....Thanks, Matt"

"I needed to replace my front brick steps from Brick to Concrete. We have been running into loose bricks, pretty much after each winter, to the extent that I was concerned about safety of visitors (my brother-in-law fell on a loose brick). Chris and crew showed up on time (like 1 min early!). And they did a great job taking all the bricks out and pouring concrete instead to give us a peace of mind and a good looking concrete steps. Throughout the process, Chris explained to me what is going on in detail and answered all my questions. I probably asked him the same question a few times and he patiently answered my questions. Chris is a master mason with specialty in concrete. He knows what he is doing and does it well. He is humorous, generous and a gentleman. Chris (personally) spent a lot of time power washing other areas of my pavers even though that was not part of the deal. I offered to pay him for it but he refused and said "I just want the place to look gorgeous when I leave. I highly recommend Chris and his team for any concrete / cement work."

"Great! Myron was professional, responsive, efficient, detail-oriented, and performed excellent craftsmanship. He went above and beyond to ensure wood staining on the top of our half wall matched other trim, once the wooden spindles were removed. We would highly recommend him, and we are already interested in quoting for additional work with Myron. Excellent craftsmanship!"

"GBR did a great job on a difficult chimney repair. Completely rebuilt the top of the chimney. Were always punctual and professional. Price was as quoted and reasonable. Husband/wife team who are good people. The repair was particularly difficult due to the height of the chimney and slope of the roof. They found the original brick and mortar matches the rest of the fireplace. All 15-20 courses of new brick are straight. Most impressive was care they took with the yard/patio. Plywood was laid down to prevent the lift machine from creating ruts in the yard - no ruts. Also, put everything else back to like new as if they had not been there."

"There were several issues right at the beginning, however they worked hard to complete the job. The work completed looks great. The reason the price is rated low is due to the issues, there should have been some sort of credit."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Grove City, OH

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
