"After dealing with one other windows company delivering an aggressive sales push apparently characteristic for this industry, it was a pleasure to interact with Matt Rotondi, the owner. He provided all the information necessary, in addition the helpful online information, before making the sale, and there was no pressure for the more expensive models. He continued to be highly responsive and courteous even after we signed on the dotted line. The installation of 26 windows was done by a contracted team on the days it was scheduled to be done, and everything went well. The windows look very nice and provide the improved insulation we were hoping for. Obviously only time will tell how they hold up in the future, but I have full confidence that Matt will honor the warranty that should cover any potential issues. After the installation, one of the windows was hard to open and another one had a very small dent, probably from the delivery, but he fixed both issues without discussion. I recommend Zen Windows without any hesitation."

"This is the third time I have hired Peter Larkin, and he did not disappoint! Just before leaving on a vacation of several weeks to the West, my tenant informed me that she is 20 weeks pregnant. I was certain that the 1900s 2 BR 1 BA condo we were renting to the couple had lead in it, so I obtained a lead inspection from ASAP Environmental (also excellent) and found that there was a small amount of lead in the kitchen windowsill and 2 doorjambs that needed removal. In the building common areas, there was also a small amount of lead in the basement doorjamb and wainscoting touch-up needed in the stairwell. Despite recently having experienced a death in his family, Peter was able to get our job completely done (lead paint removal and repainting), re-inspected, and in full compliance prior to my tenant's return. The job passed on the first reinspection, and the crew left everything neat and tidy. I am so grateful for his reasonable pricing and his professionalism."

"9/16/16 Signed contract to replace a bow window with 3 double-hung windows. 9/26/16 Technician takes inside/outside measurements. 11/9/16 Installers arrive. Job not completed due to defective/missing components. Installer and I reviewed work completed, I signed Zero Defect Form with installer notes, paid balance due, holding back 10% for work not completed. 11/10/16 Call from Rich Cavanaugh, CRM. I am disappointed project not completed. He said I would hear from Service in about 2 weeks. 12/1/2016 I called Service, left message, no call back. 12/2/2016 I called Service. Told me I should get a call next week to schedule. 1/3/17 I called Service and was told everything in. Will call back with date. 1/4/17 Call from Service with date. 1/16/17 Service tech arrives without all components to complete job. After a couple of phone calls and much discussion he goes to local lumber yard and buys what he needs to complete exterior work and installs it. Interior work must be delayed until a window sash is ordered. 1/16/17 I call Rich. I am disgusted. Why was I told all components were in? 1/17/17 Call from Rich. Window sash has been ordered. I will get a call from service when it is in. 1/20/17 Call from Service. Sash will be in on 2/3/17. Completion date set. 2/8/17 service tech arrives to install sash and replace damaged interior molding. All work completed, but just as tech is leaving the glass in the newly-installed window sash cracks. A new sash will need to be ordered. And so the saga continues. My comment is this: The windows are well-made, energy-efficient, and beautiful. The installers and service technicians are professional, skilled craftsmen and do excellent work. Service administration and scheduling is inefficient and unacceptable. Installation of 3 windows should not take three months! On a positive note, the 10% I held back was waived as compensation for my inconvenience. Not holding my breath for the new sash."

"My husband and I are downsizing and moving to the Cape. We needed advice regarding how to best utilize furniture from our larger home and specifically how to place it in the new home. We also wanted a professional opinion regarding new furniture and its placement in a sunroom. We had not worked with a designer prior to this, so were a bit apprehensive that our ideas might not be in step with a designer's. We quickly shelved our worries when we met Pamela. She listened to us and incorporated our ideas into her plan, yet was not afraid to disagree (very pleasantly and correctly). We are now able to move forward with specific guidelines for furniture purchases, paint colors and drapery designs. We enjoyed our consultation with Pam and will continue to work with her in the future. Her pricing is reasonable and she made us feel that our small project required as much professionalism and attention to detail as a much larger project."

"<p>Sean is incredibly responsive. He is not 100% perfect in his work but he responds immediately and corrects any errors. For example the new toilet had a leak and he and his plumber came on the Saturday we discovered it and repaired then eventually had a new piece put in. We decided we needed one more track light for an area that was a little dark and he took care of it quickly. Any day that we emailed with a question or concern we got a response that day. He does quality work for a very reasonable price. Sean is what my parents would have called "salt of the earth."</p> <p>Carol</p> <br />"

"Roger came to the house, checked the roof, fixed a bunch of small issues while he was up there and told me that it did not need repair or replacement at the moment. He refused payment for the things he patched up and merely suggested that we call a company that will remove the moss from the shingles. He was polite, thorough, attentive and honest. I was very impressed with him. Would recommend to anyone. He is great."

"Laurie and crew did nothing less than expect from Home Assist. I am a landlord where unit turnaround is crucial to my business. I was in a situation where I had 2 units go vacant within 2 consecutive months. They both needed extensive rehabs (which included), total kitchen, misc. carpentry as well as management/oversight to additional contractors (plumbing, electric, misc.) You can expect to find the area clean when Home Assist is done. As I have other units in New England, it is refreshing for me to have little to no intervention in projects that are associated with Home Assist. I am not only getting the highest quality contractor on the Cape, I am getting customer service and project management, where the only intervention I receive is whether I want "a pull string light or switched light". This company continues to deliver repeated high quality, excellent price and phenomenal customer service."

"A & L recently installed a Mitsubishi a split type ductless air conditioner in my home in West Dennis, MA. Every aspect of the job was timely and professional. From a determination of my needs, to the installation and finally the rebate process everything went just right. Mark, the installer, explained to me in detail everything the system could do and all operations. A & L beat all other estimates. Contact Luke or Alec for all your AC and heating needs."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Harwich, MA

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
