"Chimney Doctor gets a "A" for the actual chimney work and a "F" for clean-up (which averages out to a "C"). The mortar between the bricks of our chimney was beginning to deteriorate. We hired Chimney Doctor to tuckpoint most of the chimney and perform other minor work re: the cap. The work itself was done in a reasonable amount of time and looks great. That said, the chimney is located right next to our new composite deck that we had built a few months ago. I emphasized several times in writing to the company that the deck was the largest investment we had made in the house and we were very sensitive about protecting it. They acknowledged this sentiment multiple times, also in writing. Despite these requests, the furniture and the deck surfaces were a complete mess after they finished their work. The workers allowed the dust to settle on the deck and, due to the high humidity, this dust adhered itself to every surface. The company acknowledged this issue and did send an employee days later to clean the deck. Unfortunately, this was ineffective. It took me hours over several days (I had to wait for the deck to dry each time to see spots I missed) of power washing and scrubbing to get the deck clean again and to clean each item of furniture. When I informed them of this situation, they did apologize but provided no other refund or resolution. I recognize this process creates dust and that's just part of the work, but I think they could've done much more to either proactively protect the deck, to suggest that WE should've put some tarps down on our own, or to pay for a professional 3rd party company to come in and clean up. All told, if your chimney is nowhere near a nice patio/deck/etc., then by all means hire Chimney Doctor. If it is near an area you're sensitive about, then I'd look elsewhere or at least be prepared for a large clean-up effort on your part."

"I had a great experience with Capitol Chimney. I called them for a chimney inspection because I had the plumbing company come out and check the boiler and other than needing a new damper motor (which they replaced), they said the boiler was fine. So after about a week, my boiler was still blowing hot air into the laundry room through the spill switch vent due to the backdraft from the chimney. This was the beginning of January and we were going to have a week of freezing temperatures and everyone was super busy. I called Capitol Chimney and they were nice enough to fit me in for a chimney inspection. Abraham and Carlos came out and were very friendly and explained everything about the chimney showing me the pictures of inside the chimney also explaing that I needed a chimney liner to fix the problem. They were very professional and made me feel like it was one of my friends talking to me. I appreciate good customer service as that is just as important as the quality of the work if not more so. I set up an appointment with Diana. She is fantastic! She knows a lot about chimneys, just as much as one of the techss! She was really great on the phone and I felt at ease with her and she kept me updated on where the truck was as well as all the email paperwork sent back and forth. Great customer service from her as well! Very important. So my appointment day to replace the chimney liner came and they were able to show up very early! Joaquin and Augustino were very nice and professional and such hard workers! I was curious how a chimney liner was installed and watched them do some of the work. It is very time consuming and hard work as there is a lot of cutting involved and work on the outside as well as the inside and the chimney cap looks so good that my neighbor said it is the nicest one on the block. HAHA! They really took the time to put the tarp down in the laundry room and were vacuuming the whole time they were working. In fact, the laundry room was cleaner after they left! Joaquin explained how the 'T' worked in the pipes and we tested the boiler and hot water heater and everything worked great. I am really happy with their work. In fact, I am happy with the whole process from beginning to end. It has been over a month now and the boiler is actually working better than it did before. It has worked every time we turn it on and that is a relief not having to worry about it anymore. So kudos to Capitol Chimney for an outstanding job! Thanks, Paul"

"The project went well from start to finish. Richard returned my calls promptly and arrived for the estimate and the actual project on time. He explained the problem clearly, did a great job--including a very close color match--and exhibited professional and pleasant behavior at all times. Work was performed in a timely manner and all debris cleaned up before he and his son left. He even repaired another area that was not in the original estimate but did not charge me any additional fee. I will certainly be calling him in the future as the mortar continues to crumble."

"In November of 2016, Mr. Prouty responded quickly to my request for a quote. I analyzed the top of the chimney and agreed that a concrete chimney cap needed to be poured to fix the poor job that the builder's mason ad done five years earlier. However he said it was too cold to do concrete work and that he would do it in the spring. He returned in the spring to review the condition of the top of the chimney and we scheduled a date of service. The crew that did the work was right on time, explained what they were doing, were neat and professional in their installation and the removal of the form once the concrete was cured. I've delayed writing a review until almost a year had passed to make sure that their work resolved the problem. I can safely say that the diagnosis was spot on and the new chimney cap has eliminated the leak. I will certainly use Prouty's again for all my chimney work."

"St Joseph's team did an excellent job on my roof from the original sale all the way through to the post installation. Their pricing was reasonable and was in-line with all the other estimates I got - so I know what they charge is fair. I believe we had an honest and good faith negotiation as well. The project went great. Communication is key for me and the project manager answered his phone every time I had a question and assured me that everything would be done right (I am a little TOO detail oriented). The team knocked everything out in 2 days and even honored an email promotion that I received that wasn't in the original deal. The sent out a post project inspector as well. This place is a professional operation from beginning to end and I highly recommend them."
