"I was extremely impressed with the process of purchasing windows but ultimately let down after the install. The gentleman that arrived to install the windows were extremely professional and time efficient but when they gave me the go ahead to hang my window treatments back up I realized that my 2 inch vertical wood blinds no longer fit.  I had twelve windows total replaced and NONE of the blinds could go back up after the window installation.  When I spoke to representatives about the issue I felt as if they were on the other end of the call just shrugging their shoulders as if it was my mistake that no one had informed me that blinds MAY or MAY NOT fit once the install was completed. Our salesman, Nick Marler, was very kind and we thought informative but left that tidbit of information out. My husband and I had to scramble to cover the windows with anything we could find in rooms where I originally had only sheer curtains or valances hanging as we live on a corner lot. We used shower curtains and even sheets in some rooms. I can honestly say as happy as I was about having the new windows installed, I was equally upset about having to store 12 sets of wood blinds and having to spend even more money to replace them with 1 inch blinds and blackout curtains. I just wish someone would have told me upfront so I could have been better prepared or at least offered something other than a "Oh man, your salesman really should have talked to you about that," type of statement. "

"when i decided to do the last window replacement, the "old" company left me feeling like he couldn't be bothered with just one window. I called Chaney and was greeted with kindness and effort. I used the same brand/style of window. The installation was flawless, nearly silent and the pricing was more than fair. i appreciate their willingness to contiue to do business during the pandemic. they followed guidlines and i couldn't ask for anything more. :) thanks Scott for your hometown business."

"After having problem with another glass installer, we phoned Gravois and their rep arrived within the next 2 hours. He removed the existing pane, measured the new and installed the new glass onto the door. Type of glass was laminated, 1/4and quot; thick and the installation was done most professionally and without any mess or clean up required. Touch up, if any, would only be for the nail holes securing the framing. <br /> We would not hesitate to phone this company again with any glass/window problems. <br /> <br />"

"We called them, there was someone who answered the phone, and gave us an estimate over the phone after we told them the size of the pane that needed replacing. The estimate was lower than another glass company I called. A third company( Window Restoration) failed to call us back after twice I left messages. Then they came within the next few days to come and make an accurate measurement and final estimate which was $3 less than the phone estimate. We went ahead and asked them to replace the glass. It took from Oct 29, the day we accepted the estimate, to Nov 10 to get the pane installed. Apparently it takes 10 business days for tempered glass to be manufactured. It cannot be cut to size, they have to make the panes individually from scratch. The installation took about 10 minutes. They called 10 minutes before showing up which was very good. The workman removed the broken glass and took the pieces with him (although he missed one large piece which had fallen on the other side of the door). I was very happy with the results, the fact I was able to get someone on the phone the first time I called them, an estimate that was closely matched by the final cost, and prompt service.  This is also the company who told us it would cost us much less for labor if we could bring in the door ourselves. It was nice to be told about this option even if we couldn't take them up on it. <br />   <br />"

"Terrific! Everyone from the salesman through the installation team were wonderful. Windows came in on schedule and were installed soon after. This is the second home that I have had Andersen replace windows in with both experiences being excellent. They have a great product and are worth the money. Good customer service also."

"Absolutely excellent, employees were on time extremely courteous and responded to all my questions. I even told them I wished I had more windows to install as they definitely improve the appearance of my home. They also took special care not to damage anything during demolition and install plus cleaned up everything and hauled away all the debris. Absolutely the best out there, call the rest but use the best. GLASS BLOCK of ST.LOUIS. PS Even the estimator was courteous and provided an exact estimate. I’m sure you’ll love all the employees and the work performed by them. I’d go on an on but I think you get the idea. Use GLASS BLOCK of ST LOUIS for your glass block needs."

"Approximately 18 windows blinds were installed taking a mere 1 1/2 hours.  At the time of installation, we noticed that one of the blinds had been miss cut by the factory.  (Not due to missed measurement.)  Within a two week time frame, the replacement blind was delivered and installed. <br />"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Highland, IL

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
