"The Patriot one crew did an excellent job. Before they even started on window installation they made sure to cover all floors and surrounding furniture with plastic or heavy floor tarps. Their 4 man crew had a designated leader that kept the work flow steady and precise. Each man in this crew knew their job and were very proficient and methodical in the approach to window replacement and installation. I was very pleased in having them volunteer to fill old voids with foam insulation that the original installer had missed throughout the house. On the first day of installation there was a constant mist of rain, but that did not deter them from working at a steady pace. The second day of install was nicer weather but the process was still the same for window removal and installation. The new windows match the exterior of the house trim and siding perfectly."

"Price was competitive. The company owner, Ed, and his wife, Tina, provided good assistance and advice to select doors and hardware. They were relaxed and responsive. The doors were installed exactly as ordered. The installers were meticulous, perfect clean up and the entire job was turn key including all inside and out side trim. The old doors were removed and hauled away and the entire job was completed in about 5 hours. So this was a complete and finished project. We would definitely use this company again and will strongly recommend them to others."

"I went to Howie Glass based on Yelp reviews, and I was very happy with my experience. I had 4 screens that needed to be re-screened and I had 3, large medicine cabinet mirrors that needed to be replaced. (Mirrors are about 20x30 each and serve as the doors on an large medicine cabinet that is inset into the wall of our master bath). Keith helped me out, and he was great. The entire bill came to about $270, and the mirrors were done in 10 days. I thought the price was extremely reasonable for the amount of labor on the mirrors. Keith also helped me place everything in my car when I came to pick the items up. I appreciated the help! The screens look great, but my husband and I are really pleased with how the mirrors came out. It looks like we purchased a brand new medicine cabinet. I can't speak highly enough of this company, and I plan on using Howie Glass for all my future, glass needs."

"I cannot say enough good things about Sam from Nevets Glass. He replaced the screens in my screened-in porch and did an outstanding job. When he came out for the estimate, he gave me several options for how to go about rescreening the porch and helped me choose the best option. He was friendly, knowledgable, and professional. And also HALF the price of the other company I got an estimate from. Sam was also able to work around my schedule to get my project done really quickly. When it came to doing the work, he and his teammate were fast and efficient. The screens look wonderful. I couldn't be happier with Sam's work and the whole experience from start to finish. I can't recommend this company strongly enough. Thanks for everything, Sam!"

"I had five windows that had fogged and needed to be replaced.  Rob scheduled a time to come out and inspect what needed to be done and showed up right on time.  When it came time for the installation, he and his crew again showed right on time and completed the work efficiently and professionally. Rob is a pleasure to do business with and shows pride in the work he does.  I would not hesitate to call him again in the future."

"By far the most professional, friendly company I quoted with in Metro Detroit. Jeff found me the perfect front door where other companies couldn’t. He was responsive, detail oriented and install went so smoothly. I will definitely get my replacement windows from Clarkston Window and Door next year!!"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Highland Park, MI

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
