"My wife called Lightning Locks to re-key our new house. She set up an appointment with Alan. She originally told him that we need four locks and we end up needing 12. Alan had enough supply of keys with him and was prepared to do the job. He arrived on time and was very professional . We also like the fact the he doesn't have a hidden fees. The whole process went very smoothly and we are very happy with his service."

"Chris did a great job replacing the sliding glass door and window installation. A lot of attention was given to the details and workmanship. The Milgard product is superior for the price. We would highly recommend this company."

"The two guys who came over were right on time with the scheduled appointment.  The seemed nice enough, but not very talkative or smiley.  They brought out some hardware from the truck and looked it over.  A call had to be made to see if this size was in fact approved for use on my door.  It was, so they began the job.
When I set up the appointment, the girl said the job should take about an hour.  Well, after two hours, they were still at it.  I found out that one guy was with the company for 9 months, and the other guy for only 6 weeks (I believe it was).  The one with seniority  had done only 5 or 6 of this type of door, ever.   The hardware went on okay.  They were having trouble adjusting the door's action when engaged by the opener.
My cousin came by to visit and noticed that one of the brackets was rather close to the edge of the door and the other side was not the same way.  He told me this inside my house.  He said it probably won't work very well that way.
After almost another hour, the guys told me, "Well, there's some good news and some bad news."
The door was on and working, but not working well.  It scraped the sides as it opened/closed.  They would have to make another appointment later next week to come fix the problem.
My cousin came outside and mentioned what he'd seen about the bracket placement.  They said, "Hmmmm."  Cousin told them that if they moved the bracket slightly, it would probably work well enough and they woiuldn't need to return.  The guys did this and they did one more adjustment my cousin suggested and the door worked fine.
The guys didn't want to stay and work on it, at first, because they were already two calls behind (and it was close to 4:30 PM).  But they did.
They *did* have to come back the following week to patch holes that were drilled from the inside through to the outside of the door.  (I guess this happens periodically.)
All went well, because I wasn't on a tight time frame.  I wonder why a master technician wasn't assigned to this job?  At least ONE of the two guys should've been experienced for this type of door.
I asked my cousin how he happened to know about the garage door.   He told me he had to work on his own garage door once or twice in the past.  ("Once or twice"!!!)  Then again, he is rather a genius.    : )

"I initially called to replace one sliding closet door panel and to adjust 2 closets with older tracks and doors that kept falling off. The first crew that came measured and photographed the panel to be replaced, and manipulated the other closets a bit to get them back on track.  Unfortunately, the closets needed a bit more repair to get them back to normal working condition. When I spoke with the office to confirm order of my replacement panel, I explained that the closets still needed to be adjusted. A couple of weeks later the panel had arrived and was ready to be installed. The owner came to install the panel himself, and did the adjustment I needed on the other closets. This was not a big job, nor a difficult one, and I really appreciated him coming himself to see how he could remedy my problem.  He certainly wanted to be sure I was happy with their service. Their pricing was more than fair, and I would definitely call them again if I have any need for sliding doors.

"Installed wood fencing. The job went well. Nisim was easy to work with and accommodating when I decided to change the fencing I originally selected. The installers were professional and worked incredibly hard in the summer heat. The fence looks great and I am very happy with the workmanship. I definitely recommend Nisim and the guys at Ez genesis builderz inc ."

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Hollywood, CA

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
