"We signed up for the one-year maintenance agreement to clean our units at $195.00 twice a year. Michael came and worked on the inside unit in our attic and the outside unit at the back of the house. He said that our compressor was completely shot and not working even though it had a hardstart on it, along with multiple other issues. Yes, both units are over 10 years old and need replacing, but my partner who is knowledgeable on AC found out that he had removed the disconnects and neither unit was on. (Making a long story short...) LimRic was called back out the next day, the 2nd LimRic tech said the upstairs unit was running.
We had an independent AC repairperson come to look at our units and he said there wasn't a hard start on the compressor. He's going to return at a later date to see if he can repair the units so they'll work for another 1-2 years for us.
We got estimates from Morelli's, LimRic and Carolina Comfort Specialists, LLC (each with 3 different units) ranging from $5,000 to $10,000. At this time we'll have to save up in order to replace both units.
LimRic was NOT bad or unprofessional, I just don't have enough trust to use them for a complete replacement."
