"Well the guy was suppose to get back to me with a quote and basic design but never got in touch with me again. It also seemed like we talked more about financing (they do internal financing) then we did about the actual addition. Definitely was a turn off but I did not write them off until they never contacted me again. <br />"

Exterior view of the in-progress attached garage addition build. As you can see, the necessary siding was removed from the existing home so we could attach the garage build.
Overall view of the newly constructed back deck, which leads to the now covered patio area, via the spiral staircase.
Front view of the log cabin entry room addition highlights the stunning front door with dual sidelights.
Back view shows how much the new build towers above the existing one-story homes in the neighborhood.

"We lived out of town and Sam handled a lot of problems for us that he didn&#39;t have too. He also took time to help us pick out different appliances and fixtures. Helped us with ideas for a laundry room when others said it couldn&#39;t be done. His sub contractors did a good job for the most part. Needed some minor follow up on some work."

"John Giddings has done several jobs for us and every time he has done a great job. He and his workers show up early, work a full day, and continue to come until the job is complete. He is capable of doing basically anything from full bathrooms (including the electric, plumbing, painting, and even flooring) to digging drains and doing masonry. He gives you a price and sticks to it. He and his workers are all very professional and clean up when they’re done. I would highly recommend John Giddings."

"They installed the tile on the floor and supposed to come back to wipe the haze off and then seal. When we called to see when he will come back, he said on Monday at 10:30am. I waited home all day and he never showed or called. When I called him he said he forgot he was off Monday, he meant Tuesday. However, he never showed up on Tuesday, came on Friday. After wiping down we said the grout looks messy and the color is off, there were some skinny lines and some thick and not straight, he said you can wipe it with a wet towel and it will come off. We said can you come here and do it...why should we have to scrub the floor since we paid to get it done. We felt there was alot of bullcrap words....the job was not left nice, clean, professional the way we thought it would be. It took 1-1/2 months for him to offer a regrout and never apologized for the crappy job they did to begin with. We have used him about 5 years ago and he did do a great job, but I dont know what happened to his professionalism and honesty and detail to his work. Losing trust in him, my husband and I thought we would take the challenge to do the grout ourselves and glad we did. <br /> <br />Its ashame he didnt do a great job since we had so many other jobs for him to do. We will need to find someone else :( <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />"

"I tend to be on the picky side and insist that things be done correctly and safely, and I can not tolerate contactors that are untrustworthy and unreliable. On every project Ostrander Construction has met or exceeded my expectations. I trust them to hold the keys to my house and all the work has been done while we were not there. Any questions or changes that arose while the work was being done were easily handled by phone. The quality of their work is excellent, and the cost of each project has always been fair and reasonable and almost always close to what I expected it to be. On the very rare ocassion that I had a concern about something or other, they always worked until the problem was solved to my satisfaction. Based upon twenty years of experience with Ostrander Construction, it is my experience that you can not find a more honest, more reliable, or a more professionable contractor. I give them the highest rating possible. If I could I would give them twenty times the highest rating, one for each year they have done work for us."

"They replaced 4 sets of shutters on a two story townhouse. I've used them because they've done good work. If there is something wrong, they'll come back. I would highly recommend them."

"It went super! Michael and his men showed up on time, and had the old materials off quickly and installed the new materials quickly. They picked up everything as they went along and left the yard clean. There were no leaks during the very heavy rain we had the next week. Michael was very good about explaining what they would do, and was very accomodating when I asked for a change. The actual bill matched the estimate too. Both he and his workers were very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. It was a pleasure working with him. <br />"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Honesdale, PA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
