"My Central AC unit went out; the box outside smelled like something had fried. I called NETR, and they said they would send a technican over in a week. The technician came on time and promptly inspected the unit. He reported that the capacitor had blown, and told me that he had a spare back in his van. The labor was covered by the diagnostic site visit fee, it was just the parts cost. I told him to proceed and he replaced it. My AC was back up and running within the hour."

"Terrific experience. Scheduling was easy. My technician, Guy, gave me a call ahead of time, hit the time he said he'd be here and was courteous and efficient. I ran a large mechanical contracting business for years so understand this business. Guy ran through his checks on what is a fairly complex home system. He pointed out problems that were minor, major, or had the potential to be major. We discussed options and timing. Since our system is old, it will be difficult to repair some of the parts and pieces while others would be fairly standard. We may want to look at a new system this summer to avoid a major problem during a future heating season. I will definitely be talking to Sila."

"He was timely, professional and responsive. He clearly knows the technical aspects of the trade and provided us with a lot of information about the equipment he would be installing and how it would work with our existing ductwork.  We did not care for his sales approach because he tried to sell us on things we did not ask for and did not need.  He tried to sell us on a humidifier for the system which we really don't need because we live right by the ocean where it is quite humid year round, even in the winter. Adding humidity to our house could cause problems with mildew or mold.   He also tried to sell us on replacing our hot water tank for a more efficient model even though ours is only 5 years old.  We got the feeling that he was trying to pack as much sales onto the heat loan program without really thinking about the customer's specific situation, and that put off me and my husband from wanting to work with him.  At the end of his sales presentation he decided on the spot he would give us an unspecified discount.  We did not like this high pressure sales tactic.  We had not received other quotes yet so we declined to decide on the spot.  He emailed us a couple days later offering a 10% discount if we decided by a certain date a couple days later.  We decided to wait beyond that date so we could get more bids.
Joe's quote was $2000 higher than a quote from another installer who has equally good reviews on Angies list.  Both quotes were to install the same equipment, however the second installer included the cost of converting two unused ducts into returns and installing a pass though in a ceiling to help balance our system.  I shared this information with Joe, and he responded by saying he would beat their price by $100.  It goes to show that it pays to shop around. 
As Airco's good reviews on Angies list attest and my interactions with him, I am sure they would do quality work, but my husband and I were totally put off by his sales and pricing approach and did not want to work with the company as a result.

They have an annual maintenance contract that covers checkups in the spring for A/C, and the fall for the furnace. Never seen a more thorough report after each checkup. "The team of 3 arrived as promised! They set up the work station by spreading cover on the floor to protect my tiles. That was very satisfying to me. They were actually busy working diligently throughout the day. They provided 3 space heaters for my use if I needed. I was informed of what was going on that needed my attention. The end product seemed very good although it is too early to judge its quality. This review would have been rated with 5 stars, but I have concerns in some areas. First, the height of the exhaust pipe was shorter than I had expected. Their reasoning for not raising the exhaust pipe is not accurate. They claimed my windows were in the way. There is a clear pathway to place the the pipe if they had wanted. I’m still concerned about the exhaust fumes entering my living room if the window is open. I was told quality inspection would be performed, that has not happened yet. I hope it happens! Second, the thermostat wiring on the second floor or zone 3 does not have common wire C. The bypass that was installed in the Teco relay system didn’t work. It worked briefly for short time and then stopped. When I contacted the sales agent, he referred me to the office to explain my issue. I thought he was going to take me out of the loop as most customer satisfaction oriented company would have done. I complied and the customer service office referred me back to the same person! When the he got back to me, it was more in defense than empathy. He tried erroneously to cast the blame on my supplied thermostat, which was not involved. Eventually, he sent someone who was able to fix the problem. Third, the sales agent didn’t provide the most critical info on the contract form, the AHRI number. This number is needed for MassSave loan application. He provided it later. So far, the Lennox hot water and boiler combi and my 3 google nest learning thermostats are working very well. Even with the stated issues, I would definitely recommend ARS Rescue Rooter for providing a good product at a fair price. This company has the potential to leap frog competition to become the leader provider in this industry. If only it implements hassle free procedures for its customers."
