"HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Josh quickly found the source of a window leak that other specialists missed. This saved replacing flashing and windows in an attempt to stop the water leak. He also expertly replaced the inside trim around my window. It looks just like it should. I'm very grateful for the ways Josh went above and beyond. Josh seems to be doing what he does Best, being a secretary is not that, have patients and follow up. It's woth the effort."

"I really enjoy working with Aspen window cleaning. This is the second time we've used them. They are prompt and professional and the price was the same as 2 years ago. My only quibble is that a few of the windows had streaks and missed spots."

"These guys were great! They were prompt and speedy. I was amazed! They vacuumed the sills and other trim inside the frames, as well as the screens, in addition to washing the windows. They were very knowledgeable about old homes. They explained to me that they could not remove certain paint smears because a razor blade leaves permanent scratches on this old glass. Thank you for knowing what you are doing! Sorry, I can't remember exactly how much I paid. I hired this company through an Angie's List special promotion. I paid a bit extra to have additional panes cleaned. The job was a great value!"

"Showed up exactly on time and got right to work. I was surprised at how much time he spent cleaning my windows, over four hours (I have about 18 windows); the level of detail in the job he did was impressive. Inside, outside, screens, and sills. The service exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend them for window cleaning!"

"Integrity was great. With a full schedule due to massive hail storm in our area they were able to get our roof replaced in a pretty short time. They've been very good at keeping us up to date throughout the material ordering and actual installation process."

"Rick replaced 3 window screens and a patio door screen with the strong pet screen mesh.

He does the work quickly and efficiently right at your house so there is no hassle at all. I love the strong grade of the mesh. It should withstand kitty claws and the heat of the south sun better than standard mesh.

Rick is very personable and I felt the pricing was fair. "

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Idaho Springs, CO

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
