"NIck came out, took measurements, and gave me a book to look over my choices for door styles. We discussed the openers as well. I went with CHI model 2216 - 2 inch thick insulation. I also got a new opener - Liftmaster 8550. It's quiet, wifi capable and has a battery back up. Nick came back on 11/7 and installed the new garage door and opener for me. He went over the features and functions with me. No mess left behind, prompt, and courteous."

"Currently, we are working with New Leaf Const on our third  project in two years. Our property has needed significant upgrading, and there has been no question as to who will do it. <br />     Evaluations and explanations have always been thorough and balanced, including discussion of potential difficulties that may be encountered---of which there have been several.  In one instance, engineers were promptly engaged when structural weaknesses were uncovered when preparing to install massive sliding glass doors. <br />     Subcontractors have all been of the highest quality. <br /> <hr />     New Leaf Const is characterized by its integrity, quality workmanship, thoroughness, congeniality, and concern for the client's needs. <br />"

"I had a mansard brown Standing Seam Metal Roof put on my ranch home and attached garage. Donald and his team were very professional, on time and conscientious on a clean work site. They said it would take about a week and even though we had a hurricane one day every thing came out great! I would definitely use All Seasons again for any future work. Slt"

"Overall the experience was very positive. The company was able to make the service call within a couple days. They offered an excellent discount on their website, and the resulting price was reasonable. The serviceman was very professional and personable. There was no attempt to recommend unnecessary services. The garage door opener now performs better than when it was first installed."

"Although the project turned out to be more complicated and took longer than expected, this had little to do with <br /> the builder or his sub-contractors. Primarily the delays were due to weather, financing issues, and poor <br /> communications on the part of the town's code enforcement officer. <br /> Let me address this last issue first. Everything seemed to be alright until the pad was poured. The code <br /> enforcement officer was upset that she was not notified prior to the pouring of the cement so she could inspect <br /> the forms and re-bar. This and quot;misunderstandingand quot; occurred because the CEO never communicated to either myself or the <br /> contractor at what points during the project she wanted to perform inspections. However, from this point forward <br /> the CEO seemed to question every aspect of the project. Demonstrating considerable restraint and diplomacy, most <br /> of the time the contractor bowed to her demands (he was much , but drew the line at her trying to force him to <br /> install a water shutoff valve in a location that would likely have caused our well pump to burn out. In this <br /> case Greg Bragg stood his ground, backing it up with State of Maine statutes. <br /> With respect to the weather, June 2013 was one of the wettest on record for Maine. As far as financing, the <br /> magnitude and cost of the project exceeded what we had budgeted and we found out just how difficult it is to <br /> secure financing for rental property, especially if you are setting up a used mobile home. Consequently, we had <br /> to break the project into two phases. <br /> The demolition of the old house and initial site preparation went very smoothly as can be seen in this 8 minute <br /> YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWaJEgV2iJE). <br /> Getting the mobile home onto the pad was a bit more interesting since the ground was still very muddy from all <br /> the rain we received in June and July. Fortunately, Greg Bragg of Bragg Builders had the foresight to keep a <br /> bulldozer onsite. As can be seen in this 8 minute YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioZ1IFl-3CQ), <br /> the bulldozer was absolutely essential. <br /> The only other issue related to Bragg Builders portion of the project was a ruptured water line. Prior to <br /> constructing the gravel pad a brand new water line was installed and was even packed in sand to ensure rocks <br /> would not rupture the line. Unfortunately, a rupture occurred anyway. Fortunately, the contractor promptly <br /> installed a new water line, at no charge to us. <br />"

"It was a very old garage door. He took all of that out, all of the old metal, and put on the new metal tracking. There is .5 horsepower engine. It is extremely quiet. Most people didn't come close to his price, I got a lot more for my money. They were quiet nice and I follow them to the different home shows. They are definitely someone I would like to find and recommend on Angie's List."

"I had my ceilings plastered and wanted to add that bit of splash to my living room and foyer. The work was meticulous as was the painting (white trim on olive green walls) not one smootch on the green. The trim ran up again some heating pipes and the artistic way he address this and another structural problem is what makes Howard stand out from the crowd. Very good prices. Very talented man."

"The work all has gone smoothly and the results are excellent: better than I could have imagined.  Roy and his team do quality work at fair prices and are incredibly pleasant to work with.  I have an old house that needs lots of work and  Roy tackles each project with enthusiasm and professionalism.  He offers sound advice, but also listens carefully to the client's wishes.  I have used another contractor previously and thought that they did good work, but since working with Roy I realize that the other contractor simply does not compare in terms of service. This is my second time using Roy's Carpentry and will not be my last.  There seems to be nothing that Roy cannot do!"

FAQs for garage door installation and replacement projects in Islesboro, ME

Yes, you can replace just one panel if your door is sectional and the damaged panel is available. Most modern residential garage doors have four to six horizontal panels that can be individually replaced. However, finding an exact match becomes challenging for older doors or discontinued styles. For doors over 15 to 20 years old or with multiple damaged panels, a complete door replacement might be more practical and visually consistent.

Minor dents or cosmetic damage can often be repaired without replacing the entire panel, potentially saving you money. However, if the damage affects the door's operation, security, or structural integrity, replacement is often a better investment.

For extensive damage to multiple panels or older doors where matching is difficult, full door replacement might be more economical in the long run than multiple individual panel replacements.

Your garage door panel might be repairable if the damage is superficial and doesn't affect functionality. Small dents in aluminum panels, minor scratches, or cosmetic issues often don't require full replacement. However, replacement is often necessary if the panel is warped, has large holes, shows extensive rust, or affects how the door operates. A professional garage door technician can evaluate the damage and recommend whether repair or replacement offers the best value and durability.
