"From the start, David was professional and took a bunch of time to fully understand the project. He gave his recommendations and we decided to wait on the blueprint specs for final quote. There was no pressure or urgency from him. The prep work went great, all the guys seemed very happy with their job and took their time to make sure it was correct. The pour was great, and they left the area clean and ready for me to get on with the next project. I highly recommend David Shaw and his crew and will contract him on my next project! 10/10 have no complaints and is very happy with the craftsmanship."

"Excellant work, Professional and punctual. All work was done to our satisfaction and looked better than we had hoped for. This is the second time I have used Pounder mansonary and I will not hesitate to use them again if needed in the future. <br /> The first job was done a couple years ago and the 60 year old brick chimney on my home was falling apart. Pounder masonary rebuilt it and they carefully cleaned and reused the old brick so the appearance of the chimney matches perfectly with the old brick that was not torn down.  <br /> Both jobs were on budget with no suprises. The work areas were cleaned up and left in excellant condition. <br /> Jim and Terry <br /> Mount Carmel, Tn <br /> <br />"

"A+++  Steve replied promptly to my inquiery for a work estimate.  His estimate was lower than my other one, but what really got my attention were the steller reviews on Angie's List from his past customers - including someone needing the same work I did!  Steve (and his co-worker) was courteous, friendly and really listened to what I needed and liked.  The chimney he had to rebuild (it was about to fall down I think!) had a chimney pot on the top.  It was there when I bought the house 23 yrs ago.  For those who don't know what chimney pots are, they are decorative terra cotta "extensions" of the chimney.  They come in a variety of designs/heights and are becoming more popular in the US (much more prevalent in the UK).  It lent a certain charm to the house and I really liked it.  However, it had a lot of crazing (visible cracks) and I figured it would fall apart when the chimney was dismantled.  These are very expensive to replace and was not an option for me - so I thought it was gone.  Steve was able to remove this chimney pot and reinforce it with cement so that it could be reinstalled on the new chimney!  Looks great and I'm so happy to be able to keep it.  I so much appreciate his taking the extra step to retain this charming characteristic of my home.  If I ever need masonry work again you can be sure I'll be calling Steve's masonry!"

"On Monday 28 September 2015, the Honey Do Service representative with whom I had previously made an appointment (Patrick Lilley) arrived at 11 a. m. (on time) to estimate the cost of repairs. He was present for one hour. On Thursday 08 October 2015 at 08:30 a. m. Charlie from Honey Do arrived and completed the estimated repairs for the agreed price. He finished by approximately 10:45 a. m. No problems occurred. All work was accomplished professionally."

"After the initial call and estimate it took 14 days before they came to the house. We had an electric gate opener repaired (which has gone out since they repaired it) and plumbing work, which also needed repaired in a few weeks by another plumber."

"This contractor is a true master of his trade. He removed an existing brick wall and replaced it w a new one. The new wall was higher and wrapped around to the front of the house. Not only did he deliver a beautiful end result, but he was clean and organized during the process. We are so happy w his work.  And he is a really nice person. Will definitely use his services again soon. <br />"

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Johnson City, TN

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
