He knew it was a wiring problem but was unable to pinpoint where in the wiring the problem was. So we then discussed prices of a new unit in case it couldn't be repaired. He later emailed me an estimate for the cost of fixing the problem (still not specifically identified) which was extremely high: $460.00--far beyond my ability to pay. I asked my friends and eventually found someone who knew a lot about air condidtioners & wiring and he and I together were able to trouble shoot & find the exact location of the severed wires which were not difficult or time consuming to find. My air conditioner has been running just fine ever since. I saved $370 by getting involved in the trouble shooting. Tarpy was professional and responsive but highly overpriced with this particular problem."
