"Everything was great. They were here within 24 hours of my initial call. Got a quote within 30 min online. Only thing is, I have aluminum piping (already in my home, they did not install this) from the electric part of my water heater and apparently it should be copper. Even says so on the water heater itself that only copper should be used. The tech Carlton didn t mention this or recommend that I get copper installed soon. Fast forward a month and the water heater tripped the breaker and then made a popping noise from the electric panel on the water heater. Called them and they had Carlton come out the same day. The aluminum pipe melted the wiring.. nothing ASI could do and now I need an electrician to replace my aluminum piping with copper. Had this been recommended to me when it was first installed on 3/2, I could ve avoided all of this. Thank god the water heater itself is fine but now I m out a few hundred dollars for new piping and an electrician to come out.. kinda disappointed, but the initial install of my water heater on 3/2 was perfect.. just not so much today."

"Berryman is the best. I had what I thought was a sewer smell coming from my bathroom walls. After I personally changed the wax ring and toilet, checked for dry traps, snakes the sink and bathtub, I thought it was a blocked vent pipe and decided to call a professional. Michael spent a couple hours investigating and determined that the root cause was actually a gas leak. Furthermore, he was able to resolve the issue the following day. It has been awhile since I have seen a contractor work so conscientiously. Itâ s nice to know that there are still people out there that take pride in their work."

"We had a leak in our water pipe. We first called Tom Drexler on October 16. They could not find the leak. After several service calls, they sent out Jeremy on November 18.. He put a temporary clamp on the pipe to stop the leak and came back four days later to replace the pipe. He was very knowledgeable and professional and got the job done. Thank you Jeremy U. He got the job done!"

"Ronnie has done work for us several times.  He has run a new line for a pool, replaced soft copper gas lines in our basement, installed proper shutoffs for fireplaces and most recently installed a dryer gas line.  The workers are great: prompt, courteous, pleasant and neat. I am always pleased with how quickly they complete a job. <br />"

"We were getting ready to remodel downstairs so pipe was easily accessible to plumber - just stand there and reach up and make repair. Two guys showed up on time (one apprentice apparently shadowing older guy), the main plumber rolled his eyes when he saw the leak. He didn't say two words to me, walked outside, grabbed the newer plastic piping and used it to fix leak in copper pipe. I was never asked if wanted copper or not. It took him 11 minutes to fix it (not an exaggeration) and he left without saying anything, sending younger guy in to give me the bill and collect payment. <br /> I have used Ratterman countless times since moving to Middletown 14 years ago, but the past few interactions have been unsatisfactory. There seems to have been a change in ownership or management, the professionals that used to arrive have been replaced by others. I won't use them again, when it came time to do actual remodel work that required some plumbing - I called William Branch - excellent, professional service. <br />"

"I had received a flyer from Graham which described their philosophy, which I liked. So decided to give them a call. I had water on the floor of a small bathroom that had wet the carpet in an adjoining bedroom. I couldn't identify the source and my house is on a concrete slab with water pipes under the concrete. Sam Graham responded pretty quickly and spent about 45 minutes analyzing the potential sources of the problem and how to fix it. I trailed along with him and he didn't seem annoyed by that-I was impressed with how he analyzed the situation. He finally said he couldn't specifically identify the source but thought it was unusual that water would appear on the surface since pipes are below concrete. He thought the problem was probably under the sink vanity where the pipes come up through the concrete to the sink faucets. He said he could remove the vanity to verify that as the source but, if it wasn't, he would have to search more. Therefore, he suggested going into the wall(s), capping off the copper pipes, replacing with PEX pipes, and rerouting PEX pipes through walls rather than up through the concrete. Because of the layout of the pipes, his men had to cut through the wall of an adjoining closet, jack hammer concrete across the floor, cut into the wall of the adjoining bedroom and route the new pipes to the sink faucet and toilet. Once the new pipes were laid into the jack-hammered trench, the men reconcreted the floor. Since Graham's doesn't to remodeling, I hired a construction company to repair the walls. During that work, they found water damage to the vanity cabinet and removed it to replace it with a new vanity. Under the vanity was standing water, which validated Sam's initial thought that the leak was under the vanity. Graham's repair took care of the issue and I've not had a leak there since."

"We converted from ceiling radient heat to a gas furnace and also a new air conditioning unit. Kyle Andes, owner, presented three estimate choices (cost levels) to us.  He sat down and explained each one and recommended the service he believed we needed.  Incidentally, it was not the highest priced estimate.  Kyle was very professional, courteous, friendly, and thorough in his explanations. We understood exactly what he was conveying. He suggested an air cleaner and we readily agreed we needed it with our allergy history.  Kyle's employees were courteous and friendly and Kyle and his empoyees were very professional. The gas furnace was installed in the crawl space of the house and there was never a complaint about the difficulty of working in that space.  Kyle checked everything out once it was completed.  Rick's Repair was recommended to us by our son-in-law, who had worked with them on home remodeling jobs. We had three different companies give us estimates and felt that Kyle was definitely the company we wanted working for us. We cannot think of one thing that was not done professionally and with courtesy and full explanation. We highly recommend Rick's Repair for any HVAC need."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Jeffersonville, IN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
