"We were very very pleased and will use them again. SCE&G had sent this company, as we the water line replacement program for $4.95 per month, so it didn't cost us anything. I highly recommend this program. And we will certainly use Peeples Plumbing for our future plumbing needs."

"These guys were fantastic. A had a wobbly toilet that had awful odor coming from the base. They were able to narrow down problem to 1 of 2 things (wax seal or flange) and quoted a price based on their over the phone assessment. Sure enough it was the flange that had been improperly installed by builders. Although the scope of work was a little more because it was improperly installed they did not jack up price and they fixed it immediately. Not only did they fix the flange they replaced the wax rings and bolts. I really appreciate their attention to detail. They were careful to protect surrounding area and left every thing very clean. I will definitely use them again for plumbing issues."

"One of the best service experiences we’ve encountered. The service call was scheduled within 48 hours of my initial inquiry. Our technician called 30 minutes prior to his arrival. Work was done in a clean, timely and efficient manner. An extra trip back to the shop was required to obtain a new gas feed line as the one we had was missing a fitting. We were only charged a very nominal $10.00 for the line and the extra time. I was expecting a much higher fee. Nick was our technician and was as polite and professional as any one would hope for. First class company."

"I was introduced to Louie by our architect for a small addition we made 2 years ago. I had had other estimates from other 'reputable' companies, but chose Louie for the quality I suspected he would provide. I was right. Louie's price is more than fair for the quality he puts into the work. You may think he is more expensive, but when it comes down to what you are getting... you will get a much better product and life of your product, by hiring Louie the first time and not some hack who was cheaper. If he isn't the first person you have had in there doing work, he will address the issues and he will fix them. He is forthright and honest and so are the people he hires. Clayton is his right-hand man and very knowledgeable and kind. They make a great team and the support staff too. Louie is the owner and oversees every project. His hands are in it all and between him and Clayton and the other guys, it gets done right. This is what he was done for us: * Installed a new system for our small addition/reno of a shed turned guesthouse. This structure did not have HVAC before and so all was new. I was consulted on where things should go in the attic space, so I would have space for storage. Works perfectly two years later, no issues. * He noticed and fixed an issue with the install of a new tankless hot water heater - installed by another company. * He relocated 2 large condensers onto a new platform. * A year after this job was done our upstairs ancient HVAC gas furnace died in the middle of the summer. We stupidly called the people we had used for maintenance over the years and they installed a subpar HVAC unit. They replaced what was there, with something similar in size. Since this was done as quickly as possible, we never had the equally ancient ductwork done. I called Louie and asked him to evaluate it all, since we were set to clean up the attic and replace ductwork to help relieve the allergies my son has. He informed us that the unit that was installed was too small for the space. He generously worked with us on four pricing options. We picked what we thought was best for us at the time and he replaced the year-old unit - with a more accurately sized unit, relocated it and replaced all ductwork so it would function more efficiently. The crew worked hard and did an excellent job. We have seen our energy bills go down tremendously. * My heat went out during the "Polar Vortex" and they fixed a freon leak on one unit and thawed out the ice on the drip line for the other one. * I heard water spraying everywhere in my crawlspace and they came and fixed a water line a rat had chewed through. Same day. * We recently had Louie and his crew install an air cleaner attached to the new HVAC gas furnace. This was $1350, but also included the line item above. * He maintains all of the units in my house now. * He is on my speed dial and he is ALWAYS responsive. If you do not have an emergency, you will wait, but not too long. He's busy, very busy, because is so very very good. If you have an emergency he's there and he fixes it, asap."

"If you need anything to do with gas done, Suncoast is your company. Mike helped with EVERY step of the way, including dealing with SCE&G. We had another company come out before and they were not able to guide me on ALL the necessary steps to convert the home to gas. It's important to realize how broad "plumbing" can be and that not all companies are as knowledgeable as Mike is when it comes to how the plumbing ties in with gas/electricity and everything else in your home. Mike came out several times to check on inspections from the city and again when the meter was finally installed. He pulled the permit himself and is willing to come out AGAIN once other gas appliances are installed just to ensure everything is working properly. You can tell he's very passionate about his work and that goes a long way."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Johns Island, SC

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
