"Did a great roofing job, replacing an 18 year old leaking roof, at a very competitive price. We have a very large roof (140 squares or 14,000 square feet). The main part of the job was completed in two days. The follow up was great with 1.) additional nail pick up, 2.) reinstalling the gutter screens in the manner that should have been done 18 years ago and 3.) replacing the shingles where the satellite internet provider had to move the dish after the new roof was installed. Two additional comments: - I wish my builder would have used this company. - Now I can enjoy listening to the rain on my roof!"

"Scottie and his men showed up each day promptly at 8:30 a.m. and worked full days, only taking time for lunch. They were courteous, thorough, and cleaned up after themselves. Before starting work, they covered all the furniture and carpet to protect it from construction dust. <br /> Where they removed the window above the fireplace, they built wood reinforcement in the event we wanted to move the flat screen in the future, and finished off the outside where the window had been. Their electrician (Mark Henry of All Pro Electric) rewired the cable and electric so that those connections would not be visible, and he also was very professional and worked efficiently. <br /> In order to install the pocket door, they had to tear out part of a wall, and after their sheet rock man finished replacing the wall, they painted the new wall, the total wall on the other side of the wall they had torn down, and the wall where they had removed the window so that the paint would show no stop/start marks. <br /> One additional thing that was above and beyond that I appreciated deeply: Scottie knew that I was nervous about the roofers (unfortunately, they were not Scottie's roofers) who were doing repairs, and without telling me why, he stayed in his truck in our driveway over lunchtime while his men left for lunch.thi <br />"

"Snowden's Roofing is a very dependable company. Lynn did EVERYTHING he said he would do. Said he would come at 12:30pm to do an estimate (That's when he pulled into the driveway.) Said crew would be here around 7:30am to start (They were on the roof by then) Job was finished by end of day. New roof on, lawn clean. Other than the color of my roof, you couldn't tell anyone had been here. In my opinion, this is the only name and phone number I would recommend to anyone !!!! Great job, Lynn and Crew."

"I believe that I was the first to recommend this particular company for the Solar Tube Installation category, if not to Angie's List for the first time.  Mr. Godfrey is very much the professional and knows how to do almost everything.  I definitely do hope to have him back for additional work."

"Good job - we were pleased with the bathroom tile flooring job.  It was too cold that day to paint the window frames, so the worker returned promptly when the weather warmed to do that job. <br /> <br />"

"It was excellent. Any time we've used Lowe's for a project, their service providers have been punctual, their work has been high-quality, and often Lowe's also offers us the lowest price. The ability to pick out fixtures in store and then have the serviceperson follow up for installation is really convenient. We've been very pleased with the Lowe's in Elizabethton. <br />"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Johnson City, TN

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
