"Our AC unit started to fail last summer and we contacted Anderson Mechanical. Mike came out to try and fix the problem, but with the age of our old unit we need to completely replace it. At the time we also requested estimates to replace our oil furnace and upgrade to a gas furnace. We quickly received a detailed estimate that provided with will all our options. Mike and Tyler were very knowledgeable and explained every detail of what they were doing and why. Once installation was completed, Tyler stayed behind and explain the new unit, how to complete rebates, and what information to use for taxes. I highly recommend Anderson Mechanical!!"

"Jon and Billy were professional and hard working. Jon had to come back another day to make a minor adjustment. I am not a plumber, but I know this was NOT an easy job. I have used BF in the past, Charlie is another excellent technician. I would recommend these guys for any plumbing needs. When Jon was here to give me an estimate, he noted that the exhaust hood on my hot water heater was not in correct placement and he quickly adjusted it."

"Mr. Benscoter was professional, experienced, friendly, and inexpensive - everything we were looking for in a plumber. We had a toilet with a leak that was causing water to drip from underneath the toilet into our basement. Mr. Benscoter arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the problem (an improper toilet installation by the previous owner of the house) and clearly explained the options for fixing it. I chose the more expensive/permanent fix (which still wound up being pretty cheap given that it took a while to do), which involved completely replacing the old toilet flange and also raising it to a height that was above the finished floor so that it would have a good seal with the bottom of the toilet. The work was done professionally and within budget - in fact, the job proved to be a bit more labor-intensive than he originally expected, but he still honored the original price estimate he had given me. (He also fixed a small issue with the flapper in the toilet tank, for essentially no extra charge.) A week later and the fix seems to have worked perfectly - no signs of any leaking. We are very satisfied customers."

"My fiance and I just bought our house and we had a number of small repairs to be made, and a hot water flow issue which was a bigger deal since we had a lot of family coming over the second weekend we owned the home. Dave came out and looked over out winter/summer system and thought it was best to direct our water pipes directly to our hot water heater - bypassing the oil boiler to reduce the oil bill. He looked around the house at a few other things I wouldn't have thought of and sent me quotes a few hours later for everything we talked about. We decided what we wanted to have done and he said someone else would be in touch for scheduling. <br /> Come Tuesday of the next week - the week just before our family was coming - we still hadn't been called about scheduling. I called and explained that I needed the hot water issue to be fixed as soon as possible and that the other things could wait. They were very apologetic about the lack of communication and were able to fit us in that Friday. The guy who came over was very nice and professional and was able to do all of the repairs we had requested within a few hours for the exact price we had been quoted. <br /> Despite the scheduling issue, I would absolutely recommend them and use them again in the future! <br />"

"The service went well and was a positive experience. Three technicians were out for the service. They were professional and great at communicating with me about the project. Their pricing was a little higher than other companies I looked into but they were very responsive and prompt. The technicians spent an entire day on the service. It was difficult to locate the pipe but they did find it and did a great job replacing it. They put the yard back together very well."

"First, the price quoted on the phone to us the day before service was not the price we had to pay after the water heater was installed. It was $200. MORE. Then, 2 days after installation, we noticed water on the basement floor around the base of the heater. We called, someone came out the next day and said the new piping was incorrectly installed. He fixed it (hopefully). This expensive water heater also makes a louder, rattling noise when it is heating up water, compared to our older model, the same brand, Bradford White. We can only hope this water heater lasts."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Jonestown, PA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
