"They called as soon as I searched for a pro and coincidentally, they’re the same pro our friends referred to us as they also got their plumbing services when they bought a home. We didn’t have to wait for a week or so, they made it possible to have the job completed before we left (we were just visiting from Vegas to help our son moved to his new home). Everything went flawless, Trey went above and beyond. He noted other issues that need to be taken care of and he finished it in a timely manner, no hiccups thank God."

"Brendan Tully from Reddi Services handled the problem readily though the drain was badly clogged. He was upbeat, friendly and answered all questions cheerfully. It couldn't have gone better. Would gladly have Reddi Services and Brendan back should I need it."

"Very thorough evaluation of our plumbing, sump pump and water quality, including "green-yellow-red" summary of 30 different points of interest. Recommendations were discussed with us at the end, with absolutely no pressure to purchase anything (although we probably will)."

"The men came out right on time and started to work. My house is setting on 14ft of fill! They dug five holes next to the foundation. They had to jack hammer for two days through a lot of rock until they got to the basement footer. Deshon O, Jovann J and Kyle H were the team ready for the task. Iâ m really impressed with the hard work and the team tasked with making my foundation solid again. Foundation Recovery Systems was right priced and reliable. If I had known it was such a reasonable cost Iâ d have had it done years ago. Iâ ll be recommending them!"

"Based on photos i sent of the valve they gave me a price over the phone and that was what i paid. It took them an hour and the tech answered some other plumbing questions."

"The gentlemen from Mission were professional, showed up on time, communicated with me the entire time and got the work done in the amount of time they said it would take. The gentleman who gave me the original estimate came by at the end of the day to ensure everything was completed correctly. The cost was higher than other bids I received, but they were concerned about doing things the right way instead of the easiest or cheapest way which was reflected in the initial estimate. I would definitely use them again!"

"We had Connelly Plumbing do an entire whole house replacement of our water lines because we had defective polybutylene piping. Brian did a great job, explained what he was doing, and minimized the necessary holes in ceilings and walls. The cost was very reasonable, compared to the other big-name plumbing companies. I would highly recommend them for piping repairs or replacements."

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Kansas City, MO

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
