"Contacted Total Comfort as soon as we realized our unit had stopped blowing cold. Unfortunately it was in the evening and after hours (isn't that always the way). Received a call back from an on-call technician within just a few minutes. I explained what was going on and he was more than willing to jump in is truck and head over but was very straight forward and explained that he could diagnose but there was always a possibility he may not have the parts needed that night. I hadn't considered that and was appreciative of his candor. Thunder storm rolling (thankfully) so I knew the temps were going to drop for the evening and told the tech I'd push the service call until the next day. He asked that I contact the office first thing to get on the schedule. Next morning I received a call from Total Comfort before I could call them and they scheduled a tech to come out between 1pm and 4pm that afternoon. A little before 1pm, the tech "Alex R" called to let us know he was on his way. Yes, that's correct. They set a service window between 1pm and 4pm and they actually showed up at the beginning of the quoted service window not and hour or two after it (which seems more the norm for service contractors). Skipping ahead to the most important part... Alex was awesome. Not just punctual but extremely polite, knowledgeable and efficient. He diagnosed the problem, offered the solution, answered our questions, asked for authorization before proceeding and didn't try to up-sell. That's the support a homeowner expects. "I sincerely did not have a problem with the professional service per se, the technician was professional prompt on time, and knew what he was doing. On Dec 9, 2020, it took him about 30 minutes to figure out the problem and found the unit is still under warranty. He ordered the part and told me once the part is received, I will be contacted to schedule replacement. I called the office they did not call me. They were quick in responding and replaced the part on Dec 19. Cost is my main issue. They wanted $119.95 for diagnosis fees which WILL NOT be considered a part of the final repair fees. I believe it’s not a good business not to tell the client beforehand how much you will charge as service fees, they did not. Only after they diagnosed it. After a discussion with the technician, he talked to the office and the service fee was forfeited. The part replacement cost was $403! It took less than 30 minutes, 25 to be exact, to replace. Not sure how the rate of this charge is justified. I was told about the $403 charge right after the first visit but did not have a choice at that point. With all due respect, I understand, as explained to me, they have more overhead budget more than mom and pop shops. I still believe this total repair should not have been more than $250 at the most."

"I had a very positive experience with Davis Plumbing & Heating!  The  water in the toilet tank in the powder room kept running unless you opened up the tank and manually shoved the valve down.   I decided on the morning of my day off to use
Angie’s List to find a plumber to fix it who could come out that same day.
·     Called Davis Plumbing (who I had never used before) around 8:30am and asked if they could send someone out.  The lady took my info and confirmed that they had a plumber available.  She was not able to give me an ETA which was ok since this was short notice and  I was planning to be home for some other work that was being done on the house.  She said that the plumber would call me when he was on his way.
·  The plumber called around 1pm/ 1:30 to say that he was on his way.
·  The problem was quickly diagnosed and he recommended replacing a couple of other parts that were worn.  Since it is a 30 year old toilet that has not had any service in about 4 – 5 years I took his advice.
·   The work was done in an hour and change.  He needed to call in my credit card number to the office from my house phone which was unexpected in this day of mobile cc scanners. 
Dennis was the name of the plumber and I was impressed with his friendly professionalism and knowledge.  It was a rainy day and I appreciated that he put on shoe coverings before entering the house.   I will definitely be using Davis Plumbing again when I begin some bathroom renovations in the next few of months.
