"Alan and BJ were great to work with. Very personable and nice. Alan came in for a pre-visit and quote and discussed the work to be done. We split our gasline on our roof deck and extended one to better position our gas grill. Alan and BJ came for the installation and did a great job. I'd recommend them for work on gas line extensions."

"Art is literally the best. Show me another company that will do this: Art did a perfect job installing the gas piping at my home when I got a new meter installed. He also ran a line out to my deck for my BBQ. I got the parts for the conversion weeks later, and wasn't confident I'd install it right, so I contacted him to ask him for advice... and he came over and helped me install it! He even stuck around to make sure it worked. Then he wouldn't take any money! I forced him to let me give him some to buy himself dinner. You will not find people like this every day in ANY industry. He is literally the best."

"Zach was great. He took a look at our gas line rust to do an estimate and let me know that it was actually okay. He also gave me some good tips about maintenance and what to look for if there is a problem in the future. I really appreciate how straightforward and helpful he was."

"Developed a drain pipe leak the night before a real estate inspection was scheduled. They came out about an hour after I called and not only fixed the leak, but brought the plumbing up to code. Cleaned up afterward. Very friendly. Put up with my nosy cat who wanted to supervise the process."

"They may be good for business to business, medium to large new construction projects. High operating costs (and high margins?) means higher prices. I do not recommend for a homeowner with an existing single family residence. I needed to replace the galvanized pipe connecting my house to the street for an irrigation project. Between offering the highest bids (before an extra $10k option to install all copper), their nonsensical proposal for an invasive relocation of the line to service the water heater, and their proposal to use an excavator to tear up my yard and remove multiple shrubs and a tree just to replace my water line, I elected to use a different company. I appreciate the business like demeanor, their connections to government and utilities, and that they have the resources to pay for multi year apprenticeships"

"I can't say enough praise for George Gas Piping. I have an outdoor quick disconnect for a grill on the back side of my house, but it was not in an ideal spot to put a built in grill . I needed George to come move the pipe for me to a more central location on the house. George was very responsive, he came out the next day after I scheduled an estimate. When he arrived, 10 min earlier than his appointment window, he looked over the situation. I was expecting this project to hurt my wallet, but George surprised me with reasonable price. He said he could have one of his installers come within the next 10 days to do the work. I agreed and told him to schedule me. One hour after I agreed on the job, George told me he had an installer in my area and could do the work within 2 hours. It was a no brainer. His installer showed up at my house. From the time he arrived, turned off the gas, went in the crawl space to lay pipe and connect, install new fittings on outside of house, then turn gas on and test for leaks, it was no more than 80 min. Fast, good quality, friendly service and a reasonable price, what more can you ask for. George is the best. I will use him again when its time to service my HVAC. I read the review before mine, there really is a special place in heaven for people who do honest work. Its so rare these days, I'm Glad we have a business like George Gas Piping. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Kirkland, WA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
