"We had JC Masonry replace our fireplace. Cathi was great at responding promply. Joey was meticulous about his work, and did a great job! Working with them was like working with family. I wish I could attach pictures, because the end result was unbelieveable! I would definitely recommend them! In fact, I plan on using them again this summer to replace several retaining walls. Just good people!"

"Ben and his crew were an answer to prayer. We were a little anxious about hiring a contractor since we were new to CO and didn't have any experience with contractors here. Our fears were calmed when Ben came out to give us an estimate. Most of the work was done in the Master Bath where he replaced carpet with tile, replaced the tile in the shower and around the tub and removed the tile on the vanities. He installed a frameless shower, a heated floor, heated towel rack and chandelier as well as all new fixtures. In the basement he built a wall with a closet and added a door to an area that we made into a bedroom. He is a very good communicator and makes sure we know what they will be doing each day. As well as doing excellent work, Ben is a man full of integrity and honesty, two things that are important in a contractor. His crew arrived promptly at 8 am and worked all day each day. They were very respectful of my home and cleaned up after themselves each day before they left. If I had a concern about anything, Ben was quick to make it right. He answered my calls and texts promptly. The whole remodel took about 6 weeks with time off during Christmas. We would definitely use AAA Construction again."

"Van Matre was truly outstanding from start to finish. Brady gave us an honest assessment of our situation and a number of reasonable options to choose from. He taught us a lot about foundations, and spent lots of time with us as we tweaked and tuned the plan. They were able to get us on their schedule fairly quickly, and they finished the job in about a week, which I thought was amazing. Willis, who led the crew, was super nice. He recognized our interest in the details of what they were working on, and kept us informed the whole way through. Joel, Wheelz and Adam were awesome too. They cranked through the work and left our finished basement just as clean as they found it."

"I first hired Joe 16 years ago to work for me here in Maine while he was still living here. He did astoundingly careful and professional work at a very fair price. I was so impressed that I tracked him down in CO, where he had moved. In 2020, I paid for him to fly to ME and he once again performed miracles. I allowed him to stay in my 2 bedroom Airbnb cabin for free and use my car. He has (had) a certain artistry with old plaster walls. In 2021, he drove from CO--we agreed that it would be much easier if he had his truck. Again, he did an amazing job. Again, I allowed him to stay in my Airbnb cabin for free. I asked him to come again this year (2022). He agreed, but only if I paid him double the previous amount, and only if I paid for his 18 year old niece to come with him. I agreed, because of the quality of his work. And, I thought, we were friends. We agreed by text that he would complete three rooms in 6 or 7 days (as needed), or let me know early on if this wasn't possible. I bought them plane tickets, picked them up at the airport, gave them my car (I only have one car and was stranded without it) and my Airbnb cabin, which is 20 miles from the house in question. I made arrangements for him to rent a car in Bangor to drive to Syracuse after leaving me. In short, I bent over backwards. I don't know what has happened to Joe. Early onset dementia? Some kind of physical deterioration? He worked at a snail's pace, completing one room in 5 days. I thought the niece was supposed to be an assistant and things would move along quickly with her, but she was rarely in evidence. He unexpectedly announced that he was only working for 6 days, although he planned to stay in my cabin for 9 nights. At the end of 3 days, he announced that he was taking a day off to go sightseeing, using my car. A little presumptuous of him, but OK--he can schedule his own time; he's a professional. Besides, he had always finished what he said he was going to. At the end of 5 days, one room was completed, the second about half completed, and the third untouched. When I pressed him on this, he flew into a rage and said he was quitting because he didn't like my "sarcasm". Very weird. I convinced him to finish the second room, and he did. With huge reluctance, I paid him (and his dead-beat niece) the full amount. And then kicked them out of my cabin and recovered my car. I had earlier agreed to let them use my car for another full day of sightseeing at the end--and I stuck to this end of the bargain; not sure why. I'm a sucker, I guess. I feel sorry for him. Something is definitely going on. I was left with a dissembled room of dropclothes and plaster dust. Luckily, I was able to quickly locate a local crew to undertake the work on this room, at a very reasonable price. Phew! Left high and dry, as they say. SUMMARY: Joe has done excellent work in the past. I'm not sure he is up to the task of timely, excellent work now--he seems impaired and his communication and organizational skills have definitely deteriorated. I wish I had known."

"I couldn't be happier with my new windows. The team was responsive and professional, left absolutely no trace behind after installation. Their quote was almost 1/2 of what HD quoted for the same job. Would definitely use them again. Thanks, guys!"

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Kittredge, CO

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
