"Excellent! Company and installers were very professional. Windows arrived in the exact timeframe we were quoted. Installers showed up on time and worked diligently to get the job done in the estimated timeframe. All in all, we are extremely happy with the windows; they have made our house more energy efficient and eliminated the street noise. I've had replacement windows from 3 different companies and these are by far the best. Thank you CRS!"

"Chad Dobbins and Erik Sorensen was excellent answered every questioned I had about the windows. The presentation was very informative able to touch the window and glass, low maintenance, durability and color choices. Both explained how long from now will it be 8 to 12 weeks before call to set appointment for install, describe the process of installing windows and approximately 2 day to install. We have the old row out windows since the house was built 1961 and need to be replaced. The new Anderson windows will now help with the draft and maintenance."

"I called Sterling Windows to check on whether the glass could be replaced and what it would cost.  The windows had been installed before we purchased the house and we have lived here for over 5 years.  Sterling Windows called back in a timely manner with the information and told me how long it would take to order the glass and how long it would take to put the glass in once I brought the frame in.  They did give me the option of having a serviceman come to my home but they also instructed me as to how to get the window out of the frame if I wanted to bring it in.  Everything happened just the way they said.  I waited for them to put the glass in and wasn't there 20 minutes before I had my window back good as new.  They are a friendly bunch at Sterling Windows and I will definitely use them again if and when we need window service. <br />"

"Mark restored the exterior of my husband’s childhood home. Being an older home, there were several issues with decay that had to be addressed so new windows and siding could be installed. Mark did a great job addressing the issues and making the home look new. Very reliable, courteous and great to work with. This was our third job with Mark. I always call him first for our renovation work."

"One of our better experiences with any contractor.  After a strong rain we found water coming in the garage under a glass block window.  Upon pulling off some of the dryall we found the entire structure holding up the glass blocks was rotted out.  C&L responded quickly to my phone call, gave us a good estimate and performed the work very professionally.  Their two employees--Ryan and Jeremy--kept the work area cleaned up as they went along.  They found a way to repair the rotted-out area without having to take down the entire glass block window, saving us almost $1000.  The drywall replacement and "mudding" was as good as any I've seen done. <br />"

"Can't praise Premier Handyman services highly enough! Two technicians arrived at the assigned time and promptly began the installation of our downstairs kitchenette: base cabinets, counter top, sink (to existing rough-in), wall cabinets, and a ceiling fan bracket in our main kitchen. They were fully prepared, knowledgeable about the job at hand, polite and mindful of our personal space, and paid close attention to not only the installation but also the cleanup. There was NO wasted time and their rates were quite competitive with others in the area. This is our second service from Premier Handyman and will definitely use their talents in the future should the need arise. Additionally, I have already recommended them to others in my immediate area!"

"I had never used this team before.  We initially met for an inspection and I provided a detailed scope of work.  Later that evening I received a written quote by email that included my scope of work write-up.  Their work was primarily labor only, I provided nearly all new items.  We arranged a start date and they showed up on time and started work. They removed the toilet, pulled up the old flooring (two layers), disconnected the sink plumbing and removed the sink and base cabinet (which was no longer serviceable). They scraped the floor in preparation for ceramic tile installation, and repaired walls where fixtures were moved and where damaged by removal of base boards, sink, and vanity.  They were very careful in removing the sink and vanity to not damage the large mirror "sitting" on the sink back-splash.  They engaged a ceramic tile subcontractor to do the new floor, who did an excellent job.  They re-installed trim including new trim that was needed, caulked all trim, and painted repaired walls. <br /> New vanity and molded, solid-service sink was installed, special care taken to shorten the vanity and position and level it for the best overall appearance where it met walls and under the mirror.  They also hung a new surface-mount wood medicine cabinet and rehung a towel bar.  While there I asked them to check a small drain leak in the other bathroom - which they fixed.  They were careful with floor protection while working, cleaned up well after themselves mid-job and at its completion and finished all work as agreed.  All team members were friendly, courteous and respectful and sought my input periodically.  They went about their work QUICKLY (set-up, demolition, work planning, decisions, etc.) - but slowed down when the tool was in hand for quality craftsmanship.  I could not have been more pleased with the crew, the outcomes and the price. <br />"

FAQs for new windows service projects in Knoxville, TN

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
