"We couldn't be happier with our work. It was a very fair price and the work was amazing. Our old retaining wall was rotting and now we have a beautiful stone retaining wall. We will definitely be using them again in the future for any projects."

"Excellent! Highly recommend Jay. Very professional, excellent communication about when he'd be able to start, followed through this, flexible with my design changes, provided written estimate for each iteration, very prompt response from him compared to others, uses technology to communicate and pay, very happy with the work."

"After a thorough discussion and home site visit with Dean, the owner, we got a detailed proposal and contracted with Dr. Exteriors. His four-man crew came on Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Dennis was in charge. They started a 9 a.m. and finished about 1 p.m. without break. They did an excellent workmanlike job; were conscientious, and very communicative about what they were doing when I had questions. I would hire them again and recommend them highly."

"The basement drain started backing up so gave these guys a call since I've used them in the past (see previous post).  They were out that day -- very responsive.  On the first trip, they were unable to find the main line clean-out so they went through a toilet (after removing it) and snaked the main sewer drain.  I have two trees in the front yard and the roots from one or both found the jackpot in the main sewer line.  They found the clog, but the snake got snagged and they were unable to retrieve it in a timely fashion.  They finally got it out and decided to go in with the camera.  However, they were unable to get it past the first trap and finally had to give up.  The main drain was flowing fine so they called it a day.  They had run out of some type of adapter to reinstall the toiled so one of the guys took off to find one.  Took about 45 minutes.  When he got back, they discovered they didn't have a masonry bit to install the adapter.  Guy went back out for another 30 mins.  Got back, reattached the toilet.  $451. <br /> Two weeks later the drain backed up again.  I called that night and they were back out the next morning.  Again, very responsive.  By this time I had found the main clean-out, but it was behind the furnace and the clean-out faced the furnace so no real room to work.  Went in again through the toilet and water started flowing fine.  They found A fem hygiene product and A baby wipe (my daughter and grandson are staying with me, so.... yea). <br /> I had them feed the camera through the clean-out this time (tight, but it worked fine) and the pipe looked good; a few roots still noticeable, so not sure how ONE fem hygiene product and ONE baby wipe could have caused a clog in a 4" pipe.  Water flowed fine and continues to do so two months later.  $200 for second visit. <br /> NOTES: <br /> 1.  I started using copper sulfate (Zep - get at big box store - thanks YouTube) to kill those roots.  $13 a pop, a few times a year vs. $650. <br /> 2.  Not happy it took two trips or that they didn't have all the parts, so it wasted my time. <br /> 3.  If it does happen again, I feel I'd use a national chain simply because they've probably done 1000's of these and it may cost less. <br /> 4.  They don't give you a receipt on the visit (two carbon sheet manual system) so they'll e-mail you a copy in a week or so.  Hence, "B" for Professionalism. <br /> 5.  If they go through a toilet, they can't use the 4" cutter (for the 4" main).  Not sure why they didn't push the snake to the main clean-out then swap the cutters.  They suggested a new clean-out outside. <br />"

"Their prices were reasonable. Their service was okay. They did a decent job. It wasn't the best job in the world. I terminated the service because they damaged my front yard. They left some tire tracks with their lawn mowers in my front yard. It took me a while to fix."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in La Vista, NE

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
