"We were in the middle of a remodel and wanted the gas lines added while the walls were all opened up. Talked to other contractors. Most wanted to do it a certain way with bigger pipe / service. Travis and team actually came out and did calculations to figure out what the correct answer was. Explained the calculations and process. They were able to move fast and they did a great and neat job getting the job done as promised."

"Mr. Nash is a family owned business that operates according to principles that are reflective of that. I used Mr. Nash a couple of times 2 or 3 years ago to keep my old oil furnace running and was completely satisfied. When I decided to install a new gas furnace and central air, they were the first company I called. My intention was to get at least two estimates, but the one I got from Rich, one of their employees, was so thorough and so fair that I didn't call anyone else. Rich is not only a great guy, he is completely trustworthy - we gave him a key to our house and the code to our alarm system, and he did the work while we were out of town. He took out the old furnace, installed the new one, installed the air conditioning unit, put in some new duct work, cleaned everything up and hauled out the old furnace, and did an excellent job on everything. He guarantees every aspect of his work, which was outstanding, and he came back a couple of times to make adjustments to the air conditioning, etc. Everyone at Mr. Nash is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Phyllis, who runs the office, is great. Andy, the son of the owner, has all of the expertise one could ask for, and he came out with Rich to make certain that all the setting on both units were exactly right. Their customer service as well as their integrity cannot be over-stated."

"The owner provided the best price of all the other sub-contractors, he was the most professional, and finished the project on time. I am very happy with the work performed during the plumbing rough-in, that I plan to use Kruse Plumbing to finish the plumbing trim-out and would certainly use them again. <br />"

"I've used Kennedy a few times for regular plumbing issues and have always been happy with their response and work. But I was amazed with how Clay was able to remove and replace a long section of very old and very heavy pipe. It was a major piece of work and he did a great job."

"The superior service that Scholl's Ferry Automotive provided  to remedy this problem of my issues with a gas tank <br /> led me to write this review. I found the level of customer service from Scholl's Ferry Automotive  <br /> to be professional, of high quality and a model for other auto repair shops to strive for in Portland. <br />  My wife was not able to fill the tank in her Kia, and we were frustrated and did not know what the issue was and what <br /> the origin of the problem was. It was a problem that was not allowing us to use the car at all, and <br /> we could not discern what was causing the issue. <br /> I appreciated the approach that Kris and Gabe took in remedying the problem. Gabe told me he would try to have the car done over the weekend, and to my surprise, he was able to get to the heart of the problem and solved it over the course <br /> of a Saturday. It certainly helps when mechanics get to the work in such a timely manner. <br /> Kris explained to me how they found the problem: they pulled the gas tank off the car and inspected it. Eventually, they found a block in the gas line leading to the gas tank, which was causing the problem.  I liked how the mechanics seemed to <br /> be up for the challenge of finding and solving the issue, kind of like automotive detectives.   <br /> I was charged for the labor to pull the tank off, and to put it back, and that was the primary charge, which was about $200.00. <br /> I thought that was fair, and either Gabe or Chris called me promptly to tell me that had solved the problem and <br /> got my wife's car back on the road on time and for a reasonable price. <br /> Not sure that I could have asked for better service. Prompt, efficient, and Gabe and Kris are genuinley nice guys to talk to. I appreciated that they explained precisely how they fixed the problem and were <br /> able to avoid replacing the tank, which would've cost far more. Great work. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Lafayette, OR

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
