"They came out and looked at the air conditioning and he tore it apart right then. The next day I had a new air conditioner. I don't know any other service that handles things that fast so I thought it was excellent. They were very polite and showed me everything. They made me understand the new thermometer system as well."

"Outside unit was not working and I called this company. Come to find out there was a bad capacitor which tech was able to fix immediately. Additionally, this provider detected the contactor was dirty and it was also cleaned at a reasonable priced. Overall I will recommend this company to anyone due to professionalism, knowledge of AC issues, and reasonable prices. Services are very affordable and maintenance of all AC units were recommended and scheduled for the next 6 months.

"Payne called me on hour before my appt and told me the tech was on his way.  He arrived within the hour and quickly began working after I explained to him that my last service had me concerned. My reason for this was the tech from the other company told me i had numerous problems with my unit.  I wanted a second opinion so called Payne.  After performing my yearly maintenance, the tech told me there were minor things the other guy had done such as duct tape my cabinet door in the air handler.  Payne fixed these minor things and told me my unit was in good shape for being as old as it is and keeping up with its regular service should give me several more years of use.  The cost was $10 cheaper then the service last year and the peace of mind is priceless.

"Bought the $29 service call deal.  The technician came and diagnosed this issues with my dishwasher (new pump needed) and icemaker (new unit).  He made a call back to the office and quick got the estimate for parts and labor - as the parts needed to be ordered.  When the parts came in, we scheduled the time for the installation.  All working perfectly now!!!!! thanks!

"Fabulous service. I was not an existing customer. They came out on a hot Sunday to help cool the house down, as my system had started to fail. Amazingly, two days later they had eveything they needed to fit a whole new system. Very efficient and friendly. Left the area clean and tidy where they had worked. Fast with paper work for guarantee. Would recommend."

FAQs for window a/c unit service or relocation projects in Lake Alfred, FL

If your window air conditioner is relatively new or of high quality, repairing it can restore optimal performance and protect your investment. However, for older units or those with ongoing issues, it might be more cost-effective to replace the unit to ensure long-term efficiency and reliability. Consider the unit's age, the severity of the problem, repair costs versus replacement, and energy efficiency ratings when making your decision. If repairs cost more than half the price of a new unit, replacement is typically the better option.

Window air conditioners last eight to ten years on average. After this time, you may notice decreased efficiency and component wear. Replacing an older unit can improve energy savings and provide updated features like remote controls and better overall performance. With proper maintenance including regular filter cleaning, coil checks, and professional servicing, you can maximize your unit's lifespan.

If your portable AC isn't cooling, it might have a refrigerant leak or a circuit malfunction that's preventing it from working properly. It's best to contact a local air conditioner contractor to inspect and repair the unit. If your AC is older and repairs don't fix the issue, replacing it might be the most effective solution.

Removing a wall-mounted AC costs $55 to $75. Completing the removal yourself at the end of each summer season, being sure to do so according to proper guidelines, keeps you within this cost range. Should you require professional assistance for removal and disposal, if you can't move the unit yourself, expect an added fee of $25 to $50 to the overall cost.
