"I was delighted when I hired Quality Craftsman LLC to help me install a shower in my bathroom. I have had a Jacuzzi since my husband, and I bought this house 37 years ago. Three men came and worked on tearing out my jacuzzi and building a shower. Quality Craftsman was the only company that would build a shower the size of my jacuzzi. Other companies wanted to build a smaller shower. I would have had to replace my entire floor tile if a smaller shower had been built. What a relief it was that I found a company that met my expectations. My jacuzzi had worked great all these years, but suddenly, one of the jets developed a leak. I could not find anyone to find the leak, so I had no alternative but to change the jacuzzi into a shower. Then I found Quality Craftsman. You would think this would be a noisy job, but this was the quietest job I have ever seen done by these three workers who put in the shower. Before they started, a sales representative came to my house and helped me pick out the design of the shower tile. I could have chosen white, which would have allowed this job to be completed quicker, but I chose a fancier style they had to order. Now that it is in, I am glad I picked out what I liked. The wait was worth it. They worked quietly and built a shower I was so pleased with. Plus, all of the workers were so polite and respectful. I canâ t go without mentioning how great the Administrative staff were. Their goal is toa is to see that the customer is happy and I was. The shower built had a seat, grab bars, two shower heads, a caddy, and glass shower doors. The floor was made up of a material that doesnâ t allow one to slip. I wish my husband were still alive. He would have just loved this shower. If you want a nice shower, I suggest this company. They have all different styles of material to pick from. If you want something you like, go with Quality Craftsman LLC."

"Buyer beware! Terrible customer service and negligent technicians. Bath Fitters Orlando installed our tub and the overflow drain leaked shortly after install. The leak damaged my air handler control box/ wiring (located one floor below the tub) and cost me over $600 to have an electrician fix. I called service who sent the original installer who claimed to fix the problem. I discovered that actually, he just plugged the overflow drain with caulking. Contacted service again who said â another service call would be $200. I protested and received a call from someone in upper management a day latter. In that conversation I had, with someone in NY, who told me four times in 20 a minute conversation â they were in business to make money, not lose money on service calls. When the leak was (obviously) not fixed, another serviceman was sent out. After cutting a hole in a closet wall and one failed attempt, he was able to properly connect the drain pipe correctly and removed the caulking from the overflow. The customer service has been appalling. Bath Fitter has been unresponsive - no callbacks and straight to voicemail. It is been beyond frustrating because if the tub had been installed correctly, I would not need any service. This posting was sent to Bath Fitters a week before posting and no response tells you the level of service and warranty. I have video, photos and witnesses, so I will be going to small claims court as after many attempts to handle this outside of court, they have shown no interest in doing the right thing to correct their mistake. I will also be contacting the Better Business Bureau in an effort to protect the public."

Customers say: Quality work

"I paid for new windows. The crew put them in backwards (water drains facing inside the house). They had to come back out and rip all the windows out, put them in correctly, and recaulk (not new windows). Several window sills were busted, not repaired. All the double windows trim buckled. Then, the caulk started to shrink, 6 windows broke (no contact from debris), and 2 windows won't lock (they do not line up right). I contacted Long Home several months ago. They sent out a contractor who investigated the issues. He concluded the windows were handled too much, and they would be replaced under warranty. Christina in the office promised to replace the windows, but nothing has happened. BEWARE. "

"I want to share my experience with Ambry Design for a custom closet. It was a flawless and professional process beginning with the Design Consultant, Dave Cousineau, and ending with the installer, Matthew Ridgeway. When we visited their showroom, Dave was able to complete a design based on the measurements provided so when I left that day I had much more information than I expected on the initial consultation. It was also very helpful that Ambry has a showroom and factory right here in Largo and we were able to see all their products. Best of all , there was no-pressure to buy on the spot. We had an installation date within 2 weeks of the consultation. Matthew Ridgeway completed the installation in about 3 hours. He was ultra-polite, very professional and his work was stellar. We could not have had a more positive experience from beginning to end and the closet is more beautiful than I expected."

"I cannot put into words how happy we are. We have been told so many times there was no way for us to use our existing structure for this purpose. Turns out.. we have the screen in porch of our dreams thanks to Mr Pro Home Improvement. He came to make an estimate on Wednesday, started the job on Friday, and finished the job on Monday. He worked quickly and did a beautiful job. He is professional and personable and this was an all around awesome experience. He will be my first phone call if I ever have another project."

FAQs for shower installation and replacement projects in Lake Hamilton, FL

Replacing your tub with a shower can modernize your bathroom and improve accessibility, often providing a high return on investment. However, if it's the only bathtub in your home, removing it may decrease resale value, as many buyers look for at least one bathtub. Consider your long-term plans and consult a real estate professional if resale value is a concern.

While showers cost slightly more to install than tubs, the overall expense depends on various factors such as materials, size, and features. A tub installation costs $2,400 to $8,800 on average, whereas showers average $2,000 to $9,400. Custom designs, luxury fixtures, or extensive plumbing work can increase costs for both options. It's important to assess your specific needs and budget when deciding between installing a shower or a tub.

Converting a tub to a shower generally takes between one and three days. The timeline depends on the complexity of the project, materials chosen, and whether plumbing modifications are necessary. Installing a standard prefabricated shower can be completed quickly, while custom tile work or extensive plumbing changes may extend the project's duration. Planning accordingly can help minimize disruptions during the conversion.

Converting a tub to a shower offers several benefits, including saving space and making your bathroom feel more open and modern. Showers improve accessibility, especially for those with mobility challenges, by eliminating the need to step over a high tub wall. Additionally, updating to a stylish shower can enhance your bathroom's aesthetic appeal and may increase your home's resale value if another tub is available elsewhere in the house.

Choosing between a shower stall and a custom shower depends on your budget and preferences. Prefabricated stalls are less expensive and faster to install but offer limited styles. Custom showers allow personalization of size, materials, and features but cost more and require professional installation. Evaluate your needs and budget to select the best option for your space.

If you’re converting a tub to a shower, you may want to consider remodeling your whole bathroom. The ROI on bathroom remodels is high (over 70%), so you can enjoy an upgraded bathroom while you live in your home and get your money back if you decide to sell later. The average cost to remodel a bathroom is around $6,600 to $16,600, so factor in this price range when you’re budgeting for your project.

Converting a tub to a shower alone isn't easy to DIY, so look for a bathroom remodeler near you if you decide to take on a larger bathroom remodel to ensure it's done correctly.
