"Wolverine Contracting Design + Remodel provided us with exceptional craftsmanship for our renovation. They weren’t our cheapest option but their unique cost-plus process of contracting, clear & transparent labor rates and discounts saved us thousands on our projects. We have never seen a company operate in this manner, but it just made complete sense to us, and it works extremely well. Along the way we were a bit indecisive and made a few changes which added work to the original scope, increased our budget and timeline, however Douglas immediately shifted into another gear and was able to incorporate our changes within the original design. He is extremely honest, trustworthy and knowledgeable of his trade. His communication skills and integrity were second to none. I don’t know how he handles all the stress, but he makes it look easy. All team members and subcontractors were respectful of us and our home and a pleasure to work with as well. We highly recommend Wolverine Contracting and will be contacting them for any future projects."

"Bob and his crew did a great job framing the barn. They were able to adapt to the county and local inspections and made sure the site was clean afterwards. He was in contact with me and the subcontractors daily and the project was completed in a timely manner considering the large amount of work that was done. The crew was friendly and cooperative."

"We are very pleased with how our bathroom turned out. We enlarged the master bath into an adjacent bedroom. Now we have a cabinet with drawers, the same size shower as before, and a partially re-arranged floor plan. Gary scheduled the other contractors needed to complete the job: plumbing, electrical, tile, granite work, and paint. The job took longer and cost more than originally planned (these things generally do). We had the work done 2 years ago and are still very pleased with the work."

"Dale came right out and gave me a quote. Very reasonable so I hired them. Took 2 months before they could start as they were booked up. Which worked out well. They worked fast and quality work was done. I kept adding on thing and he figured out the cost and did the repairs. Cost overall was very reasonable and the work performed was top notch. I recommend them to everyone I know."

"Alan is probably one of the best contractors I have ever had! He is very talented, does as excellent job, is on time, and cleans up after his work. The basement and half bath turned out fantastic! Instead of putting a door to my sump pump he built a book shelve on hinges and it turned out great! He also did some finishing trim work in our bathrooms and kitchen and he did a great job. Without a doubt I would recommend Alan and will call him again for future work!"

"Terry and Kevin are absolutely amazing and incredibly easy to work with. We were hesitant to hire a contractor over a basement finishing company, but Terry's reviews on Angie's List convinced us, and, truly, he was so reliable, trustworthy, and made the entire process feel seamless. We finished about 400 sq ft of our basement (which included a wet bar and cabinetry) for about $20,000. They were respectful of our home, polite, and professional, and we felt comfortable having them in our house even when we weren't around. Their attention to detail and quality of workmanship is impeccable. They went above and beyond to make sure the basement and service, in general, were everything we wanted. There were even times I came home to a shoveled driveway and mail on the table. The project went slightly over the projected timeline, but that was mostly due to delays with a different vendor and out of the control of the contractor. Overall, we are more than pleased with our experience with Terry, Kevin, and the rest of the team (special shout out to Ron the painter!!), have referred them to many others already, and hope to have the opportunity to hire them again in the future!"

"Motor City helped us transform a lake front cottage into a family home. 900 Sqft of addition were added to the existing home. ~75% of the existing structure was demolished and rebuilt. The job required a lot of ingenuity and creativity. Dave and his crew helped us from the design phase through the building process making necessary adjustments through the life of the project. Communication was always open and honest and we are very happy with the quality of work."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Lakeland, MI

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
