He is really good at what he does and if he can't do something he tells you, talks it out with you and works to find a solution. I like the fact that even though my husband is usually the one here when Jim is working, he conducts all business dealings with me. "He was building during a rainy month, so it took longer than he said. It was completely understandable. When he couldn't work because of the weather, he called to let us know.  Even though it wasn't his fault, he upgraded the siding to one more expensive than he quoted to make it up to us.  The only category that I didn't give him an A in was his responsiveness.  If I emailed or texted him with a question, sometime it took two or three days to get back to me, but he always thoroughly answered my question. <br />"

"My one bedroom remodeling project had to change to a more pressing roof replacement. Initially I contracted with J D Holm & Sons for a small bedroom remodeling project but an ongoing roof repair done by a different contractor was not getting to the source of the roof leak after several attempts. I asked Jay Holm if his company could look at the roof and try to determine the problem. He and his worker got up on the roof and really looked it over. A couple of tiny problems were attended to that very hour. I was aware of the older age of the roof and after watching a home improvement channel show I realized my roof also lacked proper ventilation. When Jay Holm and I talked after the roof inspection he also noted the lack of proper ventilation. It was concluded that a new roof was the best option. Knowing I was on a tight budget, we discussed switching my deposit for the bedroom remodeling contact to a roof replacement contact. It was a great relief and I thought kindness that I would not lose my deposit. Things that initially drew me to J D Holm & Sons were the A rating on Angie's List and the A + listing at the Better Business Bureau. Then reading the reviews on those sites was encouraging. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed that Jay Holm himself answered his phone when I called. He was cordial, unhurried and we scheduled a mutually convenient time in the very near future for him to come to my home and discuss the project. He arrived on time and made notes. Later I received an email that went over all that we had discussed. Actually any time we had a phone call the next day I would receive an email from Jay summarizing the phone calls. This really impressed me as very good customer service as I appreciate thorough follow through. So far it's been a positive customer service experience and the roof replacement should take place late summer."

"I am extremely pleased with the door installation. My home is almost 100 years old, so getting the correct fit was not an easy task. Mr. Konkey arrrived at the appointed time and worked diligently to ensure the door was correctly fitted. I couldn’t be more pleased with his price, professionalism, and attention to detail. "Eric (owner) and Russ were great!  Eric gave me a quote and generally seemed interested in the job and me as well.  I received quotes from other companies, and they treated me like a number and did not seem interested in even doing the work.  Ultimately, Eric and Russ were able to complete the work on time and it looked great.  The pricing was within reason based on what was completed and the quality of work. <br /> I would recommend to anybody looking to finish their basement or remodel home! <br /> I feel bad for the delay in this review, as I stopped my Angie's List subscription and forgot to leave a positive review. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"<p>He was very good.  I needed the house updated to put on the market.</p> <p>He put tore out the floor, put down tile on the floors and in the shower.  He worked with the plumber on what to install.    </p> <p>He took out all the nails in the walls of the whole house, patched the walls and painted.</p> <p>In addition he moved a wall for the furnace.  As well as little odds and ends.  This was done over a period of six months.</p> <p>He was very good to work with and did a though job.</p> <p><br /></p> <br />"
