"The entire experience with Pool Busters was first rate-timely and quality performance of all aspects of the contract, done with a committed and caring attitude.  The project was started before the scheduled date, and was completed in approximately three working days, including all necessary clean-up.  I have been dealing with contractors of all types in my profession for more than fifty years, and this was one of my very best experiences.

"They were very responsive - set up an appointment for that same week, service person (Wendel) was punctual, personable and professional. They came out approximately 1.5 weeks later and performed service. They were timely, did the job they were contracted for, didn't leave a mess behind. On the whole I was happy - I was just disappointed in 3 things: 1) the cost of the estimate ($95 for 1/2 hour) 2) the cost of the estimate wasn't partially or fully deducted from the cost of the service 3) in looking over the burial, (I pulled the old piled up clay and sod up where it was covering the buried drain tile and smoothed it over with top soil and grass seed) I felt like the tile wasn't buried very deep - just 2-4 inches for the most part. I don't know how deep it should be buried, but I just figured it would be buried at least 6 inches below the surface (below the FROST line) since it's draining water from the house and I don't want it to freeze and burst. I'd potentially use them again, but I would want to compare a few quotes for cost and get specifics from the tech before they did the work."

"They are excellent and amazing. They come prepared, they bring their own tools, they cleaned the pool area, cleaned everything, wrapped it up before they throw everything away. The best people I've ever used and I would highly recommend them. Price was reasonable and much cheaper. They were on time, they called me the day before and let me know if they would come."

FAQs for swimming pool or accessories repair or service projects in Lansing, MI

A pool light replacement often doesn't require draining the water. Most pool lighting systems include sufficient cable length to lift the fixture onto the deck for servicing. The process involves shutting off power at the circuit breaker, removing the mounting screw, and carefully extracting the unit. Professional technicians follow established protocols to maintain safety during this procedure, as the combination of electricity and water requires proper precautions throughout the replacement process.

Replacement intervals vary significantly by light type. Incandescent bulbs require changing every 1,000 to 5,000 hours of operation, while LED options can function for 20,000 to 30,000 hours before needing replacement. Fiber optic lighting falls between these extremes, offering close to 6,000 service hours. Your usage patterns will affect these timeframes, and regular inspection for moisture penetration or connection problems helps prevent premature failures regardless of light technology.

LED pool lighting commands higher prices because these fixtures incorporate sophisticated electronics, superior waterproofing, and premium materials to withstand harsh pool chemicals. The extended operational life—up to six times longer than conventional bulbs—offsets the initial investment over time. Their significantly reduced power consumption also translates to lower electricity expenses throughout their lifespan. Many LED systems also offer programmable color options and effects not available with basic lighting technologies.
