"I fount New Living thanks to Angie’s List reviews, and I am very happy I did. Dmitry was professional from day one to the end of the project. Very communicative throughout. Job was finished on a timely manner, and tenants were very happy woh the quality and the professionalism of Dmitry and staff. I had to hire several contractors in the Miami area previously, and this was the first time I worked with a company that was professional, reliable and charged reasonable fees."

"This was a top notch remodel. Almost all of the condo needed work. Kitchen, bathrooms, air conditioner, plumbing, electric and general rehab. K Interiors brought the project in on time. They were very easy to work with and were very responsive to inquires. They worked with the property management team and provided guidance and suggestions on how to make things work in the small space. They stand behind their work. They were always willing to work with you to make sure the job was done to your expectations. Would hire them again for any remodeling project. 5 star company!!"

"They remodeled our outdated bathroom, which now looks beautiful. They were courteous, prompt and fair with the price. They replaced the vanity, toilet, medicine cabinet, lighting and electrical work for lighting and ceiling fan plus painting. They did a great job. We will be hiring them again to do our second very outdated bathroom."

"We worked with LeLack construction on several occasions for a bathroom remodel and hurricane impact window and door installation. Each time was a great experience. Michael was always available to answer questions and he went above and beyond to get each job done on time. We are always thrilled with the results. Michael is an expert and we trust him completely with all of the work in our home. He takes pride in his work and provides design ideas and suggestions that are always on point. We definitely recommend LeLack construction if you are looking for a trustworthy company that can provide quality work. Another reason we love working with LeLack is that they take extra caution to protect the surrounding areas and leave the job site clean and safe!"

"Overall Dan was very professional, responsive and punctual. It is amazing when you have a vendor show up at the time promised! He was always at least 10 minutes before the promised time. Dan and Tony were able to complete the long lists of items within a few days. I appreciate all of your hard work and dedication. The guys even came to my place on a Sunday to put in a half day to meet my deadlines. Be sure to be clear when giving direction - we had a couple mistakes that had to be fixed along the way due to paint selection in the wrong areas within the property. Dan and Tony fixed the issues once addressed with no complaints. Dan went above and beyond to help me with issues that arose during the project (i.e. exchanging a damaged bathroom vanity and minor retro fitting to old plumbing). Thank you again Dan for everything! I will definitely recommend you to my friends and family in the South Florida area. <br />"

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Lauderdale-isles, FL

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
