However, I had a hemorrhagic stroke last year, so I am unable to do the things that I used to do. I got three different estimates, One company even tried to convince me that my existing hangers needed to be replaced, when I knew perfectly well that they were fine. Infact, my hangers were over-built for old, heavy wood doors--bolted to the rafters in the attic! Those idiots were just trying to line their pockets with unnecessary work and labor costs. There are a bunch of dishonest companies out there these days. Don't be fooled. I am somewhat of a capitalist by nature, so I do not always give such positive reviews. So, take it from me when I say that you will not find a better company around that will do a better job than Affordable Garage Door. Adam is efficient, honest, hard-working, and prompt. You can trust that he will be at the job-site ON-TIME. He will be there when he says he will be. You will not be sitting around all day waiting on someone to show. I watched the installation from beginning to end. He did not cut corners. He made sure that everything was aligned properly and worked smoothly. I can't tell you how many noisy garage doors I've heard that were installed from other people who are less discerning or less capable. It is nice not to have to hear garage doors opening and closing in the house when you're watching TV. My garage doors open and close very silently. Never let a contractor walk away from a job with a noisy garage door. An unaligned door stresses the rollers and the tracks, removing much of the longevity--and over time the doors will degrade if installed incorrectly. Do not be fooled, there are a bunch of dishonest contractors working today. The price of building material have gone up due to Covid (it seems that building materials are always going up.) To make up for this, many companies are trying to off-set this rise in material prices to keep their profit margins high--or higher. Like I said, Adam beat his competitors by nearly 15 percent on my job. Also, you won't have to deal with revolving, poorly untrained employees from other companies. Adam is efficient, courteous, respectful, and professional. He does quality work with a fast turn-around. You won't have to wait on a long list for work that Adam will do better than the competition anyway. I have no doubt that Adam will beat any company's prices. I did the research. Honestly, Affordable Garage Doors charges VERY little for labor. But the work is EXCELLENT. I will be using Affordable Garage Door on my other properties. Do not waste your time with other companies. I've done the research on materials and inspected his craftsmanship. Hire Adam at Affordable Garage Doors. You will not regret it."

"I pay a monthly fee to CHW for insurance against equipment failure. Over a month ago CHW sent a repair technician to fix both of my garage doors, the technician made an adjustment on one door and chanced the opener on the other. A week or so ago the second door failed to open. Yes, my door opener is old, but the Warrantee says, if it can’t be fixed it will be replaced. CHW paid the tech $100 and said the rest $200 is on me. Please tell me why I should stay with CHW if I have to pay 2/3rds of the cost to replace the door opener? On a separate issue: Granted I accepted CHW’s offer of a Lowe’s card to replace my dishwasher, because I was unaware of how much dishwashers sell for, it cost me an additional 300. Again, please give me a reason for staying with CHW"

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
