"I paid Jim nearly $400 to replace a sump pump. A few months later it was running constantly and he did come out twice.. for 2 minutes each time and did NOTHING! I had to pay Roto Rooter who diagnosed the issue in the first minute as a problem with the check valve. After coming out, Jim refused my calls and didn’t return any messages. I had referred many people to his business. Now I will let everyone know his true lack of follow up and knowledge since he had no idea of what was wrong. Don’t waste your money here!"

Hi Everyone! As in many other fields which require special skill sets, all Contractors are not created Equal!! I'm sure many of you have found this out the hard way. I'm the Contractor who gets called to fix the jobs other people mess up! I've been doing this for over 40 years and I'm still a student constantly learning about the new, exciting inovations that can make your Home special and unique to your needs and desires. I specialize in Interior work for Descriminating Clients. I do very little advertising because once I've served the Remodeling needs of my Clients, they find no one else will do and continue to use me for all of their Contracting jobs both large and small. Please call me for your next Remodeling project or Handyman "Honey-Do-List". My Consultations and Estimates are free and it will be my pleasure to serve you. Thanks---Ken O'Connell

"We had a dishwasher delivered to our house and it was a series of bad events. The delivery men arrived several hours past the estimated window, the dishwasher is missing a piece that was supposed to have come with it, there was plastic packaging stuck underneath the screws which cannot be removed with normal tools and the delivery people broke our front screen door. Upon bringing this to the attention of the store and service department they will take no accountability whatsoever, stated the missing piece and plastic were the manufacturer’s fault and customer responsibility and claimed that our broken door was pre-existing (It definitely was not). It opened and closed properly immediately prior to the delivery men arriving, and it now hangs crooked. I do not appreciate, respect or endorse a company that dismisses a customer’s concerns and refuses to own up to their employees’ destruction of a homeowner’s property. Previous loyal customer lost forever. They are apparently too heartless to care though. Maybe other potential customers will be spared by this review. Go elsewhere."

FAQs for appliance (major electric appliance) installation and replacement projects in Lewiston, NY

A pro starts by setting the units in place and connecting them to the right plumbing lines, electrical circuits, and, for the dryer, a vent. If the hookups already exist, the job is quick. When they don’t, the installer must add plumbing, outlets, or a vent run, which takes more time and increases the price, especially when the laundry area is located far from existing utilities.

You’ll need the right pros for a tight stacked setup. A natural-gas plumber handles the water lines, drain, and any gas work, while an electrician installs the circuit the dryer needs. If venting or framing changes are required, hire a general contractor to patch the drywall or adjust the framing so that everything meets code and operates safely.

Permanent models need complete plumbing, electrical, and—for dryers—vent hookups. Portable units skip most of that and can run on a standard outlet with a temporary water connection. If your home already has a code-approved hookup, you just connect the new appliances. If not, hire a licensed pro to add the lines and vent so the machines run safely and efficiently.

Relocating a hookup costs between $500 and $5,000, as it may involve installing new outlets, gas lines, vents, and drain pipes. The price increases when the new location is far from existing utilities or requires additional framing and drywall work. Have licensed professionals evaluate your layout, provide a quote for the move, and handle the installation so that every component meets code and works safely.
