"DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! October 24th, 2019 and we are still dealing with incompetent leadership. They installed peeling and splitting wood along our entire deck handrail and stairway. We noticed right away and verbalized our concern with how saturated the redwood was. It had sap leaking out everywhere and was wet to the touch. The workers had noticed and mentioned it to the Supervisor, Ray. On numerous occasions, Ray went back and forth trying to get the correct supplies the entire time. Always bringing the wrong things to our job site. Countless hours spent by the workers waiting for him to bring supplies and having to decline the materials because they were either not usable due to defect or incorrect. Verbally complaining that he just couldn't get it right. So we asked CRBR not to have him return and send James or someone else that was qualified to supervise our job. We asked several times, finally getting a promise to switch supervisors. But they didn't. Ray returned later in the job and brought the defective redwood to be installed. And they installed it in the spring of 2020. I told Vince, James, Ray and everyone I was supposed to at CRBR that I could not stain the wood to protect it right away due to its defects. They told me they would send someone up to inspect it, even after sending them pictures of the peeling and cracking. We even had an in person meeting at their shop and at their request we signed completion documents for the job. Vince promised they would make it right. Instead they pushed us off longer and longer, until finally now. To inspect it they hired someone from the outside to come look at it and right a report on their findings. I'm sure you can come up with the rest...the report said due to neglect to stain and protect the wood it is now defective. WOW!! Imagine that, you pay someone to write a report the way you want. It's obvious they cared only to collect my insurance money and not me as the customer."

Mold? Asbestos? Lead Paint? Wildfire Smoke? If anyone in your home is having health problems, if you're buying a home, or if your home has suffered unexpected damage, call us for a free phone consultation at 916-275-6653 Fast and honest indoor environmental testing for health hazards. We utilize only the most reliable and proven scientific methods in order to obtain accurate honest information you can trust. Firms that offer "free" testing, really cheap testing, or that do testing & removal, make their money on removal work so they only make money when they "find" a problem. Not us, we only do testing so there is never any conflicts-of-interest. When you hire Air Basics, you will get answers to questions such as: Do we have a health hazard? How bad is it? Where is it coming from, what's the cause? What will it take to fix it? What parts of the home are not affected? How long has it been here? We're on your side and want what's best for your family and your wallet. Hire a true expert for the same cost. Our prices are competitive with companies who utilize "low-skilled technicians". Other indoor health issues we commonly handle include: Mold, asbestos, lead, pesticide residues, bacteria from sewer back-ups, radon gas, wildfire smoke and soot, water quality problems, allergens from pets, bat or rodent infestations, identifying mysterious odors, formaldehyde, odors from new furniture, and identifying exposures that could be contributing to difficult chronic health problems like chronic fatigue syndrome, multi-chemical sensitivity, auto-immune disorders, COPD, allergies and asthma. Our team also includes experts on the various environmental laws and regulations that impact the construction industry in California and Nevada, and we offer our professional regulatory compliance services to property owners, lenders and construction firms. This also includes expert witness services for legal matters involving indoor health hazards.

FAQs for asbestos testing projects in Live Oak, CA

Asbestos appears as long, thin, or curled mineral fibers that are not visible to the naked eye under normal conditions. Homes constructed before 1989 are more likely to contain this material, so a professional inspection is essential. Because asbestos identification requires specialized techniques, having a certified inspector assess your property is the safest way to confirm its presence and protect your family’s health.

Free asbestos testing services do not exist. You can purchase testing kits online for $30 per unit, and these kits include lab fees, return shipping, consultation, sampling media, and the final results. The results from a kit are less detailed and accurate than those provided by a certified asbestos testing professional. Since collecting a sample exposes you to harmful fibers, hiring a professional is essential to ensure safety and accurate testing.

Receiving asbestos test results takes one to seven days, but different labs offer varying turnaround times. When expedited processing is arranged, the laboratory completes analysis within 24 hours; standard processing requires up to two weeks. Hiring a certified professional ensures that all samples are collected correctly and results are provided without delay, safeguarding your home throughout the process.

Home insurance doesn't often cover asbestos testing and removal. Many policies have a clause called a "pollution exclusion," which means they do not cover indoor pollutants like asbestos. However, your insurance company might cover something like asbestos siding removal costs if it is released due to things beyond your control, such as storm damage.

If a DIY project or accident in your home releases harmful fibers, you must pay for the test and removal.

Yes, you can legally inspect and remove asbestos in your house as long as it's a single-family home and not a multi-family unit. However, the EPA strongly recommends hiring an asbestos abatement pro since testing can be dangerous.

Pros have all the right tools and safety equipment, and you risk breathing in the fibers by taking samples yourself. They also know how to collect samples and safely dispose of materials properly.

Asbestos encapsulation is a process that seals asbestos-containing materials with a protective barrier to prevent the release of harmful fibers. It serves as an alternative to complete removal when full abatement is not necessary. Encapsulation costs between $2 and $6 per square foot, offering a cost-effective option that contains asbestos safely when applied by a certified professional.
