Beyond the original work he quoted, he also replaced an old shutoff valve and was able to maintain the original estimate. He also called me the day before the appointment to confirm that everything was ready for the appointment day and time. Start to finish was a little over 2 hours to drain and remove the old tank, replace the old valve, fabricate new water line adapters and install the tank.
