"Excellent work. Pete responded promptly to my initial inquiry, came out ASAP to provide an estimate on the cracked step (and on a bigger "dream" project I've been thinking about), explained what had likely caused the damage, and gave me several options for either replacing the step just as it had been, or upgrading a little bit depending on my price range. His recommendations were good, and we didn't feel pressured at all, but the full reshaping of the step into a rounded one was a bit outside our budget so we took him up on enlarging it by several inches instead. Overall, Pete was friendly and professional, and had that air of experienced competence that you look for in someone doing work on your house. I didn't even bother getting a second estimate. I did, however, call a good friend who has worked in the brick industry for years, and he assured me that the price Pete quoted was right in line with what he would expect for my project if you want it done right. When I gave Pete the green light, he scheduled the work promptly, showed up in the morning on time a few days later, and knocked the whole project out by that same afternoon. Put simply, the step looks great. It was done promptly, in line with our budget and at the price Pete originally quoted, and our whole experience with him was easy and hassle-free. The new brick color is matched perfectly with the old brick (absent a decade of wear and tear obviously), as is the cement, and it is clearly quality construction. In sum, I would highly recommend PK Masonry to anyone, and I will definitely use him again if I can ever convince my wife to let me pull the trigger on that dream project I've been thinking about..."

"This team is very knowledgeable about stone work. They came every day possible, worked in the extreme heat and rain, and did a fabulous job. The detail in the work is what really sets this company apart from others. The team used top grade materials including black paper, wire, screws, concrete, sand, beautiful stones (from Georgia), and a lot of thought. The team is careful that every stone is turned to the most beautiful and "showing off" side and then they cut, break, or chip to make each stone fit as closely to the next as if they were creating a puzzle. The added touches ( stone shelves on each side of the window), the precision of the finish, the corners, the meshing of our logs (log home) with the stone, and the mortar was all done in top fashion. Randall has perfected a framing technique using stones to frame out and highlight windows. I have not seen this anywhere else. Just beautiful. I highly recommend Molton Masonry for any stone needs. The difference in real stone and faux is indescribable, as beautiful, exquisite, phenomenal, just do not do say enough. The Molton team take pride in their work and like for the customer to be happy. Ask to see their portfolio and you will see why I highly recommend them for your job. I hope Randall and the team will submit pictures."

"I have used ATL Window & Door in the past to install my 3 sets of French doors so I felt comfortable with their pricing and installation proposal for the windows--and they were the lower of the two bids that I had collected.  Their installers are really great (same ones that did the installation of the doors) and took great care to clean up and were very careful with the landscaping around the windows.  The windows that came in had the wrong grille pattern--they were supposed to be 3 by 3 per sash but what was sent was 2 by 3 per sash which is not what I ordered and is not allowed in the town home community where I live.   Since I noticed this problem after a few of the windows were installed and the other old windows knocked out, the installation had to proceed with the incorrect windows.  The original proposal from Atl Window & Door to correct the problem was to replace the glass in each of the window sashes but I was not keen on this idea as I wanted new windows (complete new sashes)  from the manufacturer.  Atl Window & Door obtained the correct sashes and installed them at no additional cost.  They had to go out of their way and drive to Charlotte, NC to pick up the correct sashes as the manufacturer had closed their Atlanta office.  While I don't think that this was their preferred and most cost effective resolution from their perspective, they did the right thing by me, the customer,  and I have the seven new windows that I ordered.  The problem was resolved within three weeks of the original installation. <br />"

"The contractors were here each day on time. They asked me what time they could start work each day as they didn't want to disturb our household (I have a baby in the house). They came each day and worked thru til the end of the day. The dumpster was dropped off and the roof work started approximately 3 days into the repair. They found that the roof on the house was the original roof and that it had 3 layers of roofing material. All of that added approximately one extra day to the repair but when it was all done they even raked the yard to be sure that all of the roofing debris had been picked up. The dumpter people cracked the driveway and left deep gouges in the grass when they picked up the very full dumpster. Paul Davis took care of fixing our driveway and even fixed the lawn. At the end of the repair that were some stray nails sticking out of the ceiling (they explained how it happened but I honestly can't remember the explanation. It made sense to me at the time though). The contractors came back and fixed this problem for us without any complaint. <br /> <br /> After the work was complete they came by to walk through the repairs with us. The entire experience was pain-less. I would definitely use these guys again."

"<p>Just wanted to drop a line or two and let you all know how impressed we were with both your workmen and their work.  In today's society, you just don't find companies that really do a great job, they usually just do enough to "get by".<br /> <br /><br /> <br />At times, without their knowledge, I was home and could hear some of the men talking.  Much to my surprise, their language and subject matter were always appropriate.  Don't find that much in the labor force today!  It spoke volumes to me.  When they did speak with us, they were always very kind and informative.<br /> <br /></p> <p>The work that was performed consisted of excavating the dirt to gain access to the footings on both sides of the foundation.  On the inside, they had to bust out the concrete floor and hand dig to the footing in order to install their brackets for the "unified lift system".  After installing the brackets, they attached special hydraulic equipment to the brackets which drove 3" diameter<br /> <br />pipes down to bedrock.  Next, they attached a hydraulic jacking system to each pier location.  Using their special vehicle with a unique hydraulic pumping system they attached hydraulic lines to each location and were able to do a controlled lift.  From what we understand, your company is one of the only ones that can perform this "unified lift".<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />We were taking pictures daily and emailing them out to family and friends who could not believe their eyes!  They started out making our basement look like a bomb went off and when they were done it was swept and looking very nice!<br /> <br /><br /> <br />All this to say that the work done was absolutely astonishing!  We will highly recommend EHM to everyone that we hear may need this type of work completed.<br /> <br /><br /> <br />Thanks so much again.  We were dreading having this work completed, but you all made it so much nicer by your<br /> <br />expertise, kindness, and professionalism.</p> <p>Mike and Cheryl <br /> <br /></p> <br />"

"He repaired the damage to the walls, put foam insulation over the walls, wrapped the house with house wrap and put the siding up. He installed 3 windows in the garage, he wrapped the windows and the fascia boards, installed soffit panels and wrapped around the doors. The craftsman work that he applied around the house gave it a more detail look which makes the house stand out. <br />"

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Lizella, GA

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
