"My experience with Marc at Make it Drain was fantastic. We had a problem with leakage under the house that we thought was fixed when we bought the place. Turns out two years later that something wasn't done right and we had wastewater accumulating from the kitchen. Marc from Make it Drain came out on short notice on the weekend to look at the job, and he gave me a great estimate, educated me about the issues, talked me through the process, and had a friendly but no-pressure approach. I had several other companies out to make estimates, and one of the estimates was three times what Marc quoted me!! When we arranged the job it was easy, and Marc and his guys showed up on time, did exactly what he said he'd do, kept everything super clean, took pictures to show me what was going on, and continued to keep me looped in so I understood everything. It was a painless process, done quickly and professionally. I will call them anytime I have plumbing needs!"

"The manager of this company named Tony is super rude and I'm totally shocked that he's been a manager for 10 years... so he claimed. They jetted the pipe on my rental house. I was promised 2 videos (before and after) for $658.... a 2 hour work. When I first asked about the video, I was told that the video was corrupted which is a total lie. They then sent another plumber to take a video but obviously it's the "after" video. Instead of telling me that they forgot to take a video before they did the work, this rude man told me that he would refund my money and to never call his company again. Number one, it's not his company and I've been a customer longer than he's been a manager. Number two, as a business owner myself, I would have fired him for talking to my clients like that. Instead of finding a solution, he talked down to me and accused me of not wanting to pay them. I told him that I wanted to pay and to never talk to me like dirt and that he's only managing a plumbing company. Sadly he thinks he's such a big important guy. If he's not happy with the company, find another job! The customers are paying for his salary! Way to treat a customer. If I was told a lie for a corrupted video and did not get the before jetted video, how would I trust this company? Mismanagement will lead to a close of a business. This is what this guy is doing. I hope the owner reads this review as I'm going to leave another review on Google. Just because he's been there for 10 years, doesn't mean that he can get away with talking down to his customers. I do want to say one nice thing. The collection person named Teresa is a super nice lady. The company should have promoted her to be a manager of this company and demoted or let go of that rude Tony guy. She's been with the company for 26 years and has nothing but being polite and pleasant and truly listened to my complaint about this issue. Unfortunately she's in a collection department. Bottom line, don't deal with this company because they don't deliver what's promised to you."

"I had a plumber recommend CPL as we are having tenting of our kitchen tiles. I set up the appointment and was given a window of 1 to 4 pm for tech arrival. When I hadn't heard anything at 3:50 pm, I called the service, and they said their technician was held up at another home and would be arriving between 4-5 pm. He actually arrived at 5:35 pm. So thinking they would arrive between 1 and 4 pm we weren't able to use our kitchen, which was a huge inconvenience, not being able to prepare lunch or dinner. The tech finished his work after 7pm so we had to buy dinner. However, they easily billed me $395.00, and when I inquired about offering a discount for the inconvenience, they stated that they could not provide a discount. How difficult is it for a business to provide a 5-10% discount for an inconvenience like what we went through? I would not recommend CPL, as it already felt like the cost for the service they provide is overly expensive and they overcharged me. Select someone else."

"We couldn't be more happy with Darrell and the entire Allison Plumbing crew. Darrell quoted us the best price, service, (plaster patching*) and equipment (USA made hot water heater) of the three companies from which we received quotes. They re-piped our 2100sq ft. house in two days. These people are hardworking, efficient, on time, PROs! *I have to mention the wall patching. Our house is 75 years old. So, our plaster walls are a bit scarred in areas. I couldn't believe that they actually matched the original walls. THAT takes some talent. We will definitely call Allison Plumbing again, if/when we need work done. We HIGHLY recommend this company."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Loma Linda, CA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
