"Great service, the spring broke at noon on a Sunday. I reached out and they told me that they would be here between 3 and 4. Well they showed up at 315 and they completed the repair by 4:20. James was extremely detailed, he adjust the garage opener, it sounds better with less noise. He explained what he was doing and even gave me a quick tutorial on garage doors. Excellent quick service, specially on a Sunday."

"Ted stopped by initially to fix a broken spring. He did a quick inspection and showed me some frayed cables which looked really bad and needed to be fixed. After completion, he also noticed a broken hinge and also noticed that the garage door opener needed adjustment. He replaced the hinge and had to come back the next day ( needed a part) to adjust the opener. I was not charged for the hinge or the opener adjustment. Did a great job and I would recommend him. Thanks very much Ted."
Wood garage door at least 50 years old.
Older wooden garage door, probably installed in the 70's. The facing has begun to decay and previous attempts to repair the panels with wood putty have chipped out from weathering.
Brand new thermal insulated North Central garage door in almond with a colonial window section!
Brand new North Central thermal insulated door. Looks great and runs smooth, meaning less wear and tear on the opener.

Much warmer too!

"It was a great experience working with this company. They provided a fair quote to replace a very old garage door! Levi was a professional and polite installer that cared about my preferences. He installed and cleaned the entire area within 4 hours. They provided warranty on the door and opener! I would recommend them for any repair or replacement work"

"My Garage door broke and would not open or close. I contacted Reliable Garage Door and they are amazing. Jacob quickly resolved the problem and at a very fair price. Anyone can put Reliable in their name, but Reliable Garage Door follows through with their actions. I was so happy with the service I am going to use them to replace my worn-out garage doors."

FAQs for garage door opener repair or adjustment projects in Long Lake, MN

Garage door costs range somewhat broadly, depending on the type you choose. However, you’ll also need to factor in labor costs, which vary from state to state and between pros.

A chain driven operator costs between $150 - $250. For a belt driven operator it is usually $160 - $450. A screw-driven operator is between $250-$500.

To keep garage door opener repair costs down, you should check that the whole apparatus is working normally on a regular basis. This means making sure that the tracks of your door are greased and fully operational, and that the door itself is in good condition.

Installing a new garage door opener runs from $250 to $500 at least. If your repair costs are close in cost to that range or if your garage door is 10 to 15 years old, you should probably replace it instead of repair.

However, it’s a better idea to fix your garage door opener if it’s less than eight years old or if repair costs are less than replacing.

Garage door openers usually last between 10 and 15 years. However, several factors contribute to how long your garage door opener can last. If you schedule regular inspections and practice proper care, you can maximize your garage door opener’s lifespan, saving money in the long run. As a general rule, practice the same care for your garage door opener as you would the door itself.

These tell-tale signs indicate your garage door is going bad, including:

  • Not closing or opening at all

  • The door reversing when you try to open and/or close it

  • Inconsistent opening and closing; more noise than usual (grinding, scraping, or banging)

  • Sticking or stalling when you try to open or close it

If you experience one or more of these signs, it’s time to call a professional garage door repair service.
