"I needed a vent pipe rerouted in my attic, as the original design was not installed to let the water drain. Mike from Tom Drexler called to let me know he was on his way, gave me the estimate before starting work, and explained what he was doing and why. He was very knowledgeable and fixed the pipes quickly and made sure it was working properly before leaving. I was very satisfied with the service. The price was more than I was expecting but I am happy to have this fixed, as it was causing leaks in my kitchen ceiling and I should not have any other issues. I will be requesting Mike for any future plumbing issues."

"Great replacement experience until the end. They messed up my ceiling trim and paint and didn't come back as promised. I had to call the manager to get repairs done. They also suck at follow up customer service. They didn't call to see if I was happy with my installation or to see if I wanted a service plan. Oh well. Their loss."

"It went well. The repairmen called and arrived promptly to look at my project. It was repaired quickly and he did a good job of explaining to me what the problem was and what he did to correct it."

"They did a great job, one of the rooms had extra high ceilings and required scaffolding. He was awesome. He was on time, efficient, finished ahead of schedule and had great attention to detail. I would highly recommend him."

"It went very well.   Once we scheduled the appointment, the contractor showed up on time and did the inspection.  He called a day or two later and reviewed the results.  He caulked a couple of areas and fixed a small problem.  He did not find any problems that needed additional work.  In addition to the phone call, he sent me a written report with some pictures of the areas that needed to be repaired.  Very professional.

"

They did a fantastic job painting my house, I feel like I'm in a new home.  My bedroom has a tray ceiling with out dated decorative plaster in the shape of sea shells.  I disliked it the first time I saw it and vowed to change it. They took care of it and now the ceiling is smooth like it should be, more modern day. They removed old wire shelving in the pantry and repaired the holes in the wall - nice and smooth. They also repaired the drywall in my living room where it had buckled over the years because the builder didn't use tape on the seam - now it is smooth city. The crew was great and they cleaned up after themselves and did a good final cleanup when the job was completed. They were even playful with my dog who tried to help out a little too much. I was impressed with the company and I intend to call upon again.  Need some wall paper done now!

FAQs for ceiling fan repair projects in Louisville, KY

Maintain ceiling fans by cleaning them. They have sealed bearings so they don't usually need any type of lubrication. You'll want to dust the blades regularly, using a vacuum cleaner to get into inaccessible areas. You may want to remove the light cover and clean it out and any exposed areas for dust. You may need to use a wet cleaning solution of some kind, particularly on fans near kitchen areas, where grease buildup mixes with dust to create grime that can destroy your fan.

Common reasons include worn-out components from constant use, loose or faulty wiring, accumulated dirt and grime interfering with moving parts, electronic component failure, and physical damage from impacts. Motor capacitors may fail after years of operation, causing intermittent function or complete failure. Bearing issues can create excessive friction that eventually freezes the motor. Regular maintenance can help prevent these issues.

When a ceiling fan’s motor capacitor fails, it interrupts the essential electrical flow required for the fan’s proper operation. The capacitor is a compact but critical component responsible for initiating and regulating the power surge during startup and continuous operation. Without a functioning capacitor, the fan loses momentum, may experience stuttering speeds, and ultimately ceases to operate completely. Replacing the capacitor immediately restores the normal electrical balance, ensuring that the fan operates safely and efficiently while maintaining its intended airflow and performance levels.

Ceiling fans typically last between five and 15 years, averaging 10 years. Factors affecting lifespan include usage frequency, quality of materials, and routine maintenance. Environmental conditions also impact longevity. Ceiling fans installed in humid bathrooms or outdoor settings generally deteriorate faster than those in climate-controlled living spaces. Regular cleaning and prompt repairs can extend a fan's life and maintain its performance.
