"We have been extremely happy with all of the workmanship and the workers were all very professional. When John had another contractor come in, as in when the concrete was poured in the garage, they were all professional tradesman and not handymen. We had daily communication on the progress and John always talked to us in detail on how the job was progressing. All material was high grade and best quality. The job site was always cleaned up at the end of the work day. We did go above our discussed budget, but only because of some issues that needed to be brought up to code and that we decided not to go a cheaper route to fix the issue. We also made the decision to change or add on to the original plan, but we have been extremely happy with the job(s) that were done and would not change a thing we had done. We are extremely happy that our home is now maintenance free and we have and still do receive many compliments on the improvements done to our home. "Being an owner/builder of a new house, I got more quotes for drywall than any other service I hired out. I got quotes from $13,000, all the way to $23,000 for the same scope of work. Dave's quote was somewhere in the middle. When he contacted me about the bid, I told him I was thinking about going with someone else at the lower price range, he offered to take some money off his bid in order to win my business. The other company I was leaning towards wouldn't budge on price without removing items from the scope fo work. So Dave got the job. Previously in my build project, I had some unpleasant experiences with some of the other trades that I hired, so I was pleasantly surprised when Dave and his crew would show up early to the job, and work long hours. Unlike other trades I hired, I never had to worry about him screwing me out of any material costs, cutting corners, or constant excuses for not showing up to work on my job. Dave even accommodated my request for some unique drywalled pockets above each window to accept hidden, recessed window blinds. He did a better job than expected on these areas given the rough window framing, and protruding metal window flanges that could've potentially caused an uneven drywall finish. After the job was over, he offered to come back to do some touch up work if I noticed any blemishes or rough spots after primer had been applied. I begrudgingly took him up on this offer, and his response was eager saying that "you already paid for the job, so I'd be happy to come fix those things". From my experience, this response is shocking...usually after a contractor has been paid, you can't get them to show up for anything. He was friendly, personable, and a great guy to work with. I will be recommending to anyone I know who needs drywall work done."

"I did the typical homeowner thing where I anticipate being able to handle a project and quickly found I was in a bit over my head. I was hoping to do some finish work on my basement and thought everything would be simple. It proved to be a bit beyond my understanding and I went to Angie's list and a few other places for help. I ended up finding Redwood Builders (Jared) on Angie's list. He was semi local to me which was nice and made it easy for him to stop by one morning before I left for work. I had two other people out to look at the possible work as well. I ended up going with Redwood Builders for the job because I felt most comfortable with Jared compared to the others I had talked with. Overall it worked out very well. He was very open in communicating what was going to be done when and on what day. Overall everything has stayed relatively on time to what we discussed. The overall cost was higher than I had wanted to spend, but that is more to do with what I believe was my poor estimating on what real work costs. Compared to the other people I talked to he was right in line with them as far as costs go. On the costs, what I have appreciated is his openness to adjustments as we go. Initially we discussed a baseline cost for the project. He has stuck with that, but because of my request for an additional thing here or an additional item there the cost did increase. He never really said no to anything and just explained that might be an additional cost, gave me a rough idea of the cost, and we ended up going forward. In my work, I work with a lot of different contractor types in different industries and frankly I wish all were as personable and easy going as Jared. He did a good portion of the work himself. He did sub out some portions of the work, but the items he subbed out were done well by people that were professional and worked well and quickly. I know he had some personal issues pop up during the tail end of our job. Short of letting me know he really did not miss a beat. I fully would have understood any delays but he was very professional and very set on finishing what he had agreed to. I would gladly use Jared again on any possible future job and would recommend him to anyone looking."

"Absolutely fantastic! Due to our health problems, it became imperative that we be able to shower on the first floor of our home. Unfortunately, our first floor only had a powder room with no shower or bath, and that room was really small. Greg, a master craftsman, was able to design and enlarge our powder room enough to accommodate a shower. This was a really tough job to do in our 100-year-old home. Once he designed and created the extra space, Greg completely rehabbed and remodeled the enlarged room, adding a shower, new commode, and vanity. It was an extremely complex job requiring plumbing, electrical, and ventilation work plus flooring, painting, and all sorts of carpentry magic. the result is a magnificent new bathroom that will allow us to stay in our cherished home for years to come; all thanks to Greg!"

"Charles took me shopping to help me make design choices and make sure we stayed on track for budget.  We had a productive day and a lot of fun buying new materials for my home.  I was included in the project every step of the way.  Really?  Who goes shopping with their customers anymore?  Wonderful experience from the begging!  Charles and his team were polite and professional and what I loved the most is they have made me feel so comfortable while performing this work in my home.  Team was on time and ready to work everyday.  No corners were cut and details were always finished perfectly.
