I wouldn't recommend another company to do pavers, concrete, or landscaping work. The attention to detail was absolutely amazing! They transformed the front and the back of my home with beautiful pavers, hand cutting each piece and laying each one of them so symmetrically. I've had at least half a dozen neighbors stop in to see their work and ask for a business card! And the clean up...my goodness. Each day they wrapped up everything, put tools away, and keep everything so tidy and clean. I really appreciated that. No mud and dirt everywhere...it was incredible! During my consult, I shared my vision with Jose and his team created the design for the back patio, the walkway, and a new front porch. I trusted his expertise and wow - it is so beautiful. "My husband and I came across 7th State Builders online. Eddie came out to our home for our initial consultation. He was punctual and professional. He listened to our vision and took the time to draw out a plan and explain the process. He was very knowledgeable and made some great suggestions. We decided to do a big project at our home. For the back: a rebuild and waterproofing of our previous deck and a large patio to go underneath it with a fire pit and sitting wall. The front of our house needed some repairs so we had them redo our sidewalk in the same patio pavers from the back. The whole area in front of our garage was cut out and they put in new concrete and leveled it out. They rerouted our gutters to prevent flooding as the previous design was doing damage to our foundation. The owner, Chase, was very hands on and kept us updated the whole time. He frequently made sure we were happy with the way things were going. The whole team made this project an enjoyable experience. Iâ ll admit, my husband and I can sometimes be difficult people to please-But wow!! They really knocked it out of the park for us! 7th Stateâ s precision and talent is unmatched. You are truly working with people that know what they are doing and they are the best at what they are doing. Communication from start to finish was consistent and open. They were very patient with our ideas and they added to our vision in ways we didnâ t think was possible. The whole crew was professional and extremely hardworking. "Steve was on time and professional, and very easy to get along with. He looked at the corner where the leak is and assessed the issue and said he didn't think it was worth waterproofing it, but instead regrading the lawn by that section of the house (which was great news).
What's better is he even gave me a ballpark estimate in case we decide to waterproof anyway (around $3,000, which, from what I can gather on Angie's List, is very competitive with other companies, and in many cases a lot less expensive). But he gave tips on how to take care of the leak on our own, which will save a big chunk of change.
In short, Steve's honesty saved us lots of money, and if we ever need waterproofing services in the future, I'm going to him for sure. I highly recommend this company -- if their work is anywhere as good as their service, I'm sure you're going to be happy with the results.

"The company was responsive - gave me a same-week appointment.  Adolfo came to my house, assessed the work to be done, and quoted me a fair price.  He did the work right at that time.  The job was done well - it looks professional and neat.   He even colored the concrete so the patches would better match the existing concrete.  I am pleased with the work.

What I really liked & respected with the fact that the owner - Richard, kept his word.  I called (3) other companies and didn't so much as receive a return call.  I called Capital Paving & Richard returned my call the next day (Saturday).  He then offered to travel from Silver Spring to New Market to offer me an estimate - on a Saturday afternoon.  He said he'd arrive in an hour & he did just that. 

After receiving the estimate, we agreed to move forward with the work.  Richard called me (2) days later to schedule the work for Tuesday.  He & his crew arrived as promised & completed the entire job that day.

Richard & his crew worked extremely hard despite a heat index of 98 degrees.  They finished the job promptly & added years of service life to the driveway.  It looks great & the repaired portion is excellent.

I definitely recommend Richard & Capital Paving for anyone looking to improve the service life of their driveway.

"Our trusty old mailbox had a run in with an SUV and the post was slammed to the ground and the mailbox sailed all the way across the yard. After not being terribly impressed with the options at Home Depot and Lowe's we where reminded of a company that had put out flyers a couple of years back. We went to look them up online and checked all the reviews. After considering the price and glowing reviews we decided to give the company a call.

Prepared for the usual impersonal and uninterested response that one usually finds we where most pleasantly surprised to find the owner very friendly and willing to squeeze us in for an install the very next day. He was very thorough in asking what we needed and making sure we where happy with our choice. There was no pressure to up sell at all or make us choose what was convenient for him to provide.

 The next day arrived and sure enough the owner showed up and made a very pleasant introduction and proceeded to get to work. We had asked for the $159 base model and the post and mailbox where of excellent quality. He set the post in concrete and explained he was working on another job and would be back shortly after the post had set.  He was kind enough to use phillip screws so that we could detatch the mailbox easily later if we decided to paint the mailbox and spray painted the interior for a uniform look. Well before the postman arrived he was back and placing the finishing touches on the mailbox. In addition to adding a little extra concrete since the post had to be placed closer to the street much to the joy of our mail lady I would imagine!

After finishing the install instead of grabbing his money and running he was kind enough to talk about the mailbox and post. Offering several recommendations and suggestions for maintaining the wood so that it would last as long as possible. Also explaining how he takes the time to season the posts properly himself. Never at any point did he pressure us to pay right away and even several times stated we could pay later.

The owner is extremely passionate about his job and from my first impression provides an excellent service and believes in customer service. Which in this area can be at times can feel like a foreign concept."

"I had used Glenn many years ago for some masonry repairs and called him again for this project as I lost his number but I was elated to find his information on Angie's list. He came over very promptly after calling him and gave me written estimate detailing all the work to be performed. My front and back stoops and walk way renovation was a project I had put off for a long time, mostly from the dread of finding a quality mason contractor to do the job since I lost his number from before. Glenn kept me in the loop for the entire project and asked for my input along the way. They cleaned up the area around where the work was performed. Glenn was prompt and always called me every morning to tell me when to expect him, he was knowledgeable, personable and professional and I could go on and on! He and his crew finished the premium flagstone stoops and walkway exactly as designed ahead of the time he told me and strives for customer satisfaction as evidenced with his qualuty work. I can't think of any way this job could have been completed in a more professional manner or with a better company. Should I have need of a masonry contractor in the future, I will definitely call J & G Masonry as I was so very happy with the work performed. I'm already thinking about the next project that I can call Glenn about doing - possibly an outdoor brick oven. I miss seeing him come to my house every day. You won't be disappointed!"
