"I was a customer of 1st Choice Heating a Cooling for 10 years or more. They installed a furnace in my prior home and just under 3 years ago installed an a/c unit in my current home. Had great service from them up until my most recent interaction. My a/c unit has a 10 year parts warranty and a 1 year labor warranty. The condenser fan motor went out. The part is 100% covered but the labor is not covered. I was charged $160 for a trip/diagnostics fee, then the quote for labor was just over $900. I was able to negotiate the labor down to $650 which is still extremely high given the repair took less than an hour to complete. Price gouging their customers by including filing fees and processing fees in with the labor fee for repairs where the parts are covered and labor is not. The owner was rude and condescending in his communications through the BBB. Claimed I was the problem since maintenance wasn’t done on my 2 year 10 month old a/c unit. I would not recommend 1st Choice Heating & Cooling."

"Doug did a great job. He was here at 8:15 am, out by 8:40am. Replaced an igniter. I would have given a 5 star but no prior cost estimate before work was started. No receipt after leaving. I thought the work was done with respect and knowledge. I just can’t comprehend the 400 in labor?? But all works now. Happy with the outcome.. here immediately, on time.. and heat once again!"

He took the time to explain what he was doing, noting positive and negatives along with realistic expectations for what to fix, what was functioning ok, and what was of no concern.
