"I have used Modern Roofing one time in the past to do repairs on our roof. They did a good job. I thought I would use them on my mother’s house. Bad idea. There were many issues I had with them, including but not limited to the following: 1. her roof needed to be replaced, she didn’t have any leaks, but it needed to be replaced. After Modern Roofing installed the new roof, we had a significant leak in the house. My husband found the area where the water was coming into the house. The water was ‘pooling’ before it was noticed because it was in the laundry room under the washer and dryer. It produced mold on the floor (indoor / outdoor carpet) and possibly in the wall. The insulation and rafters in the attic were wet also. None of these were ever addressed / fixed by Modern Roofing. 2. I had contracted them to use “SureNail Technology”, after 2 months of the roof being installed, my husband found rusted nails where the water was coming in. If proper nails were used, how did the shingles come up and why were they rusted? 3. The men that worked on the house were extremely unprofessional. I spoke with the owner of Modern Roofing about their unprofessionalism. He agreed. He said he was going to fire them / let them go. 4. They replaced some rotten boards on the back porch with treated wood. After 5 months, the boards look like they are splitting. They also said they would come back and paint those boards. They never did. There were more issues that we were concerned about than mentioned above. But this is enough. All issues were told to the owner. After the owner left January 12, 2019, we have not heard from them since. I tried 2 times to contact them a week to 10 days later. The receptionist took my information and said she would pass my call to Joe and Nick, the owners of Modern Roofing. I have not received any phone call or visit from them since January 12th. I would like for them to check on the mold in all areas where the leak was, replace any wood on the back porch if needed, paint the boards they installed and also compensate us for all the issues. Therefore, I would not recommend Modern Roofing."

"We bought a coupon for a chimney cap from this provider. We scheduled the time for them to come out to measure the chimney.
Dean came out and measured the chimney. A few weeks later he called to inform us the local shop that does the building of the chimney cap had lost the measurements. He informed us that they were just written on a piece of paper, no copies or anything. The company that builds these did not even call him. So, he comes out to measure again. A few weeks ago he mentioned that it should be ready and that when the weather is nice they will install it. The weather was nice all week and no installation. I have contacted the company again today. I am not sure I would use these pre-pay coupons on angle's list again.

"Magnum roofing was VERY responsive to our emergency situation.  The electrical pole on our roof was ripped out from a falling tree branch during a storm.  We had a small hole in our roof that needed to be repaired before we could have the electric pole repaired and get the electricity turned bad on.  They were able to come out to give us an estimate within a very short time frame, 30 minutes!  They would have been able to complete the repair before the electrician came back with his emergency permit.  
Everyone I spoke to, from the person that answered my inquiry to the gentleman that showed up to give us an estimate, were very professional.  The gentleman that came out to give us the estimate even helped us rescue a baby egret, he was familiar with bird rescue/ rehabilitation.  I would definitely call them again in an emergency situation.   Magnum roofing has a fantastic staff!   They went above and beyond my expectations.

"The cost was covered by insurance. They were very busy back then that is why I gave them a C on responsiveness, it took a while. When they finally showed up, they were here. We called and they took a while to get out and give us an estimate. They took a while to get out and do the repair. They were supposed to the same color back up that was on there but they put a different color on there. Our Home Owners Association called and said,'You have a wrong color roof.' And I said, 'Well am not taking it off.' So, they have to put a different color up there next time. Shame on them for doing the wrong color.That is why they get a B. Home Owners wasn't happy. I don't care, I got roof."
