"Spoke with Jonathan. Asked if they could handle a small project to extend gas line for my new BBQ grill... Said sure, will right after lunch.. As promised, he called, said Nick was on his way and would be there in 45 minutes. Actually, he was a bit early.. Handled the small task quickly.. Very polite and thorough. Price was very fair.. Will definitely use them again.."

"Mike Saia returned our call within 3 minutes after we called on a Saturday morning. He and his son were at our house within an hour. Three hours later we had a new hot water heater and we’re up to code. The service was excellent and very professional. We highly recommend Saia for your plumbing needs. Danny and Judy Nodurft"

"The plumber I got was great. I needed help with installing a replacement for a leaking faucet for my washer that seemed welded in place. He was able to remove the bad faucet and install a replacement. He also helped install both my new washer and gas dryer which had been dificult for me to do on my own. Highly recommended."

"I first emailed Mr. Jim over the weekend through Angie's List and received a response the same day. Monday, he called and scheduled a time to do the repairs. He and his daughter arrived right about the time he say he would and immediately began working. They cleaned out trash in the lines, sealed the piping under the kitchen sink, reputtied a basket strainer and replaced the other, cracked strainer. They also increased the water temperature and water pressure to the hallway bathroom, which was the most cost effective and an easy fix to taking a hot shower. Overall, they spent about 2 1/2 - 3 hrs on the job, which was worth about $195. Mr. Jim is very personable and has a great work ethic. He walked me through the process by explaining to me the issues, how he was fixing them, and he demonstrated to me that everything was good to go when he had finished. A week later, I noticed water under the kitchen sink again and called Mr. Jim to come back. He returned and immediately identified the issue. It turns out that the kitchen sink itself was not sealed, so any water that got the counter was seeping under the sink. It only took a few minutes for Mr. Jim to apply putty and verify that there were no leaks. There was no extra charge. I am very happy with the service I received and will definitely use Mr. Jim's Services in the future. If you want a license plumber who guarantees their work, offer the most cost-effective solution, has a great work ethic and attitude, then I highly recommend that you use Mr. Jim's services."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Mandeville, LA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
